Jamie Carragher thinks David de Gea is a good goalkeeper. I, for one, am outraged by this scousers thoughts. He is definitely better then that bloke in nets for Norwich.
Without even opening the link, Mignolet right? Liverpool have the best player in the league in EVERY position, this has always been the case and no doubt always will be.
It's the EA Sports performance index. We should get him and shwan together, I'm sure FM14 rates Mignolet very highly...
matters not as De Gea is 11th in that list, it's not even close Certainly a good goal keeper, certainly not the best in the league though, by a stretch it seems
Ruff where did i say that?, i merely pointed out that Nidge was wrong with his assumption regarding De Gea's status, if hes right prove its fact rather than opinion.
If your defence is ****e the keeper is forced into more action which is what this table is based on, not ability.
Ahh come on, it's just a standing joke. Same as next year being yours and that. I never opened the link but if I'd known it some reference to a computer game I'd have taken the piss even more!! This isn't real life, people like Shwan go off what gaming stats say.
You should read the bit about how they put that index together. Goalkeepers get as many points for their team winning and the team keeping clean sheets than they do for their own performances. It's essentially a combination of the league table and the golden glove rankings. The index actually boasts it is as 'objective' as possible, which means they don't care about how good the players are, only how good their stats are. I bet Mignolet's ranking last season was utter dogshit, purely cos he was playing for relegation candidates with a much worse defence.
It was a tongue in cheek reply to Nidge Ruff, but looking at the Premier League website player stats it appears that the section is only sponsored by EA Sports?
hhhh i just posted them as another opinion of people watching x player in a weekly bases, not a fact though
Mignolet is a better goalkeeper... De Gea's improvement has been impressive however. I wasn't convinced he had the stones to make it, but he's got the makings of a decent long-term goalie. He won't rank amongst the greats, even the Man Utd greats, but he'll be reliable enough in time. Too much reliance on the feet (he plays like a frustrated outfielder who's been lumped in nets til the opposition score one and he can come out!), still too timid and withdrawn, but he's got good natural attributes for sure. Mignolet is not without his faults. His concentration isn't always there, I feel, but he's probably top of the goalies in the league. Szczęsny certainly is not second best, though, and that alone makes a mockery of the table. This year I'd have my top 3 thus; 1. Mignolet 2. Lloris 3. Cech The rest have little to choose from. Hart and Krul have disappointed me the most.
