Which England players do you think deserve a call up? Players like Nathan Dyer whos impressed me for the last couple of seasons now and Mark Noble dont get a look in.

With the likes of Glen Johnson and Ashley Young making most squads it makes a mockery of Hodgsons statement that he only picks players on form. If your English and play for one of the big clubs then your pretty much guaranteed a spot.
Milner hardly plays for City but makes every squad.

Also what does Nathan Cleverly actually do?? He doesnt score, create or tackle, so what kind of midfielder is he suppose to be? Guaranteed if he played for us or West ham for example, he would be no where near the England squad!

Its always been the same and will never change. If Adam Johnson was still sat on Man Citys bench he'd be going to the world cup.

Jack Colback would be a great option for the world cup squad for his versatility. He'll not get a look in though.

on the subject of Cleverly, I wouldn't swap him for Cattermole. Same with Carrick, Mr 30 yards of space and a minute on the ball, plays a 5 yard sideways pass and he's "as good as Xavi" in some pundits eyes.

Cleverley is average at best, the England squad is weak and i lot of them I don't see as internationals.
Milner has gone backwards in he career and his level is club at best.
We are starting to get a few coming through the youth ranks.
Danny rose will be cole long term replacement if he continues how he has been.
I don't think it depends so much on who you play for as look at Ricky
    Lambert at Southampton.

He generally goes around punching people for a living, got stopped by some Russian last time out though.

Under rated is Tom Cleverley, dig his stats out he's more than likely out in front of both Lampard and Gerrard for pass completion % and successful tackles %. I think it's a bad time to be playing around with the team considering we need to win both games but I'd definitely have Ross Barkley involved in some capacity. I'm also on your side ref Ash Young he's awful, even though he does chip in with a few goals for England he's got no team ethic. I like Dyer too, I'd certainly have him in front of the likes of Lennon and Downing.

I think part of the problem was probably employing a dinosaur to manage the national team, nothing will change with that chump in charge.

Dyer is definitely a player that deserves a shout, you just know hes going to go solid on the right wing with Milner, which is fair enough but I would like to see some brave decisions by Roy if we get to the tournaments.

Luke Shaw and Danny Rose are also future England Left-backs, which is good news as Cole is 31 and Baines is 28/29 so we are well stocked there.

Don't rate Cleverley but Carrick is a great, great player and massively under rated. Under Ferguson he played in every big champions league game which shows how good a player he is and how valuable he is to Man Utd. He never gives the ball away and is one of the few English players that makes decisive forward passes. He should have just as many Englands caps as Lampard & Gerrard.

I notice Andros Townsend gets a call up now he's back at spurs, never mind him being one of the most consistent English players last season in what was a struggling QPR side. Call up 6 months too late methinks, oh but he wasn't at tottenham then was he? International football is joke on every level. From it's governing body to the muppet who picks the England squad.

If Ashley Young gets a game then Adam Johnson certainly deserves one!! (and I don't think either of them deserve one)

Townsend had a failed spell at Leeds a little over a year ago aswell, now after a good start for Spurs he's straight in the squad. Even AVB was abit pi$$ed off he was called up.

I know he plays for a big club, but i never understand why Micah Richards constantly gets overlooked?
Hes better than Johnson, and he can cover Centre back aswell.
