Absolutely. Wouldn't go to 'mainland' Egypt but Sharm was unaffected. That's why the Foreign Office said it was OK and they were right. I have contacts there and they confirmed this before we left. There wasn't even a curfew during the trouble. Huge overreaction by the rest of the world pulling their tourists out of the resort. Great for us - there were 25 people in our 5* hotel - all Brits and Egyptians. They've now lifted the restrictions so the much-loved Russians will be back soon. I'm being sarcastic btw. On a side note I didn't meet a single Egyptian who supported the Muslim Brotherhood. They are well rid. The nation and its people deserve a lot better.
