    Not really....

Same old arguments.... looks to be even some of the same posters on there as here.

At least is shows that not606 is not unique in its divided opinion on this matter.

    Cue....Sir Cheshire Ben.

The HDM comments page is the home of the mentally challenged, it's always been full of halfwits.

The most pointless argument that really gets me annoyed, is the, "When people ask me who I support, I say Hull City or the Tigers"

Completely irrelevant, as yes, we've been known as "The Tigers" since 1904 too, but it's not been our official name printed on e-mails, the badges, the training Ground, the Stadium etc.

Every team has a nickname, and Tigers is ours. It's a nickname not our identity. The two should be kept separate.

I always say, "City" if asked who I support, and if they ask, "City...?", then I just say "Hull".

If you don't like the threads about the name change, Robbo, why bother going on them?

    "A club not a brand"

Sorry, but anyone who thinks that statement reflects reality is thinking proper small time.

You're in the EPL now lads, every club is a 'brand' whether we like it or not. The EPL 'product' is consumed all over the Globe & that's the reason that every club is being guaranteed a minimum of £60m each in TV revenue this season.

Manchester United are the biggest club in the country & their 'brand' is the best known & promoted around the planet, hence the reason they can muster the £113m of sponsorship deals that they have per annum.

If you don't want your club being a 'brand' then the PL is not for you lads.

You haven't seen me on there once in the last two years, I closed my account.

Mainly because they've got people like you on there.

Because his life is so empty, he gets his kicks from posting inane ****e on football message boards.

He contributes nothing to this board, other than posting contradictory comments aimed at others.

    In other words, he's a ****.

What's 'realistic' about looking to deny that a PL club is a 'brand'?

I hate the expression, but it's a fact about life in the EPL. We're all brands & those who do the best job of promoting theirs, will reap the greatest rewards.

Only yesterday Levy at Spurs sacked off his internal team responsible for the marketing & promotion of the club, & out sourced the task to a company who will look to maximise the value of their 'brand' to sponsors.

Sorry but it's proper small time mate (no offence like).

Agree with this. Dunno why people rail so much against the word "brand".

I'd agree completely that Hull City is a brand, one that I'm very proud of supporting, that's why I'm campaigning to keep it.
