Not confident at all of Fame And Glory getting the 2m4 trip. Saw him over 1m6 earlier this month and it provided more questions than answers for me. However he is the class horse in the race and that could be enough against some good horses but nothing top class. Surprised more of the jumps trainers don't target some of their stars at this to be honest. Rite Of Passage switched back for this last season with success and the distance should suit their stamina.
The problem I have with this race is that now that Yeats has retired we aren't likely to get a truly run race, they liked trying to get Yeats out of his ground but they never could do so. I think F&G will run well IF they go slow, however along with Duncan I do worry that he will not get home in a fairly run race. I do like Asker Tau and his run in the Yorkshire Cup is one to rule out (stop start pace and shorter distance) and I would not be surprised to see him run a big race.
We had a visit from both Holberg and Manighar for the Melbourne Cup. Both went ok, but easily the best of them was Holberg. I've kept an eye them of late, and thought Manighar has done a little better. What chance these guys?
Why not turn So You Think out in the Queen Anne; Prince Of Wales and then the Gold Cup! Looking at him he looks like he has about twenty lungs!
Nah, don't think so Bolt. Why subject such an animal such as So You Think to 20 furlongs? I'd keep him to 10 - 12 f. I'd even line him up over a mile, but I wouldn't go anywhere near the Gold Cup.

If Duncan is “temperamental/ungenuine”, most owners would love to have such a horse. He has won two Group 2 races in the last ten months. The problem for the Gold Cup would be that he has made all in both of those victories and I think that tactic is unlikely to be employed at Ascot unless the others allow William Buick to set a crawl and quicken it up when it suits him. The commonly held belief that all jumpers have bags of stamina and would clean up in long distance races on the flat has been disproven on countless occasions. If the best National Hunt horses were as good with the obstacles taken out of the way then Kauto Star and Denman would have been standing dishes at Royal Ascot for the last five or six years. In the absence of any top class stayers, Fame And Glory has defaulted favouritism ahead of the defending champion. If he did not come from the yard that produced Yeats and with a similar career profile he would be a bigger price.
*** is the class horse, there is no doubt about that, and if he stays he wins, simple as that. Though as a rule of thumb I don't back short priced favourites, stepping up a mile in trip for the first tine. Now Right of Passage is out, the race looks poor pretty poor. Just a load of run of the mill G2 performers and ***. So il be leaving the race alone
Kentucky, not being pedantic but I think you'll find Yeats won the Cornation Cup under a masterful Fallon ride from the front. Fame and Glory won it last year as I backed Sariska and she came second. I dont think F & G will stay but it looks a weak enough renewal this year so even a non stayer could prevail should the race be run to suit.
I'm not sure why people think soft ground will aid ***, as he apears to go on all types of ground. Soft ground is only going to make it more of a stamina test, so I don't see how it increases his chances when the only worry is wether he is going to stay
