Simple to sum up. **** first summer but good since (relatively speaking). Probably the best January transfer window I can remember us having. Add to that Sakho who could be our most important signing in a long time. Keep up the good work Rodgers
Oh and i put sahin down as miss as he cost 4.4million nobody published how much of that fee was cancelled by him chuffing off. I am predicting apsaps is a miss and i think he's not shwon any ability to cope with the english game and IMO I can't see him doing so and being a real contributor to our first team. If we were in the europa i'd say useful for there but we are aiming for CL and i don't know who he'd cope there. In short cruel yes, but its a cruel game no? the way i thought about it as i did it was would we make the fee back, If not then I would call them a miss unless they were contributing something extra. so for me borini at sunderland on the bench = a 4mil fee next summer back to italy and i am regretting us not seeing a bid from lazio or whoever so we could off load this summer just one. Allen.... 15mil... thats why i put him down as a miss drop the one off and he'd be ok i guess. Thats my thinking at the minute. In general I just see a disaster last year followed by two successful summers and the result in a good start to the season.
As with most managers, Rodgers has had roughly 50% success. The key thing is that a lot of his 'hits' have improved or likely to improve the first team and it's core. Mignolet Sakho Coutinho Sturridge 4 new top class players for a combined fee of £42m (approx - average of £10m p/player). These are players who have come straight in and made an instant impact, all are relatively young (average 23 years old) and can be the spine of the team for the next 5 years. I've not even included Toure because he is a short term solution but he has come in and made an instant impact as well. Just need Rodgers to add players to central midfield and that spine would be complete. On paper, Moses and Cissokho are ideal wide men to complement the spine, and we just need a few more to be complete (e.g. competition for full backs and wingers/inside forwards/false 9.5's etc)
TBF, there is a keeper, defender, midfielder and attacker in that list; one of each. However, I understand what you mean and, although MITO will disagree with the labels, that is a DM!

Write a team list out Mingolet X Toure Sahko X Lucas* X X Suarez* Sturridge Coutinho I mark lucas and suarez with * as rodgers said in interviews he was building a side round them or would do. I've left gerrard of this due to age. Cissohko is in on loan and moses is too. I predict a RB purchase and a CM purchase in january. In short like them or loathe them the players who get the chop get the chop. I like reina, Gerrez loathes skertl. after all the finshed 7th, 6th 7th so they all need a good look in the mirror as we drive for improvement. i fancy rodgers will have bought a whole new team come this time 12 months.
And another thing is that I have a lot more faith in our transfer dealings - the committee are looking at the right players e.g. Diego Costa is having a great start in La Liga (10 goals in 8 games). In 12 months (2 transfer windows) and we'll be in a very good state IMO where we will have improved the squad depth and quality (provided we enjoy the same level of success as we have over the past 2 windows).
