Interesting appointment but only given a 2 year contract......the cynics will say 1 year for relegation and 1 year to get promotion from the Championship.....

Strangely they are in an even worse position points wise than we were last season as we had accumalated a whole 2 points from the first 7 games compared to their 1 point......things are not looking good for them although they did seem to play fairly well for an hour or so against Utd on saturday but their defence looks very weak and Poyet has to wait until January to bring in any new players......sounds very familiar doesn't it????

    For Sunderland read QPR 2012-13.
Far too many managers, changes in playing staff and fractions within the Group. To top it all they couldn't seemingly give a ****. We also played great away to Arsenal and Spurs but with no points - Sunderland have also the problem we had, cant hang on to the ball for more than 3 passes and no real threat up front.

There is however one difference - Whereas Tone in his judgement hung on to Clueless for as long (far too long) as possible, Short has been brave and got rid after 5 games. Do I think this will make a difference - Not a hope in Hell - That's what happens when you pay over the top for mediocrity.

I don't think Sunderland are dead and buried just yet. Still expect them to escape come the end of the season.

Yep, and we were only 4th favourites to go down with only 2 points from 10 games, Swords's bells are ringing for the Wearsiders!

Hope he doesn't get caught out in the away dressing room.

I hope he does turn Sunderland around - tough, but I have my fingers crossed for him.

So Palarse, Naaawich, and Stoke can get relegated !!!

    Happy days

Gus Poyet fuming after excrement found in Crystal Palace dressing room

    Brighton rocked by ‘Poodunnit?’ scandal

Hopefully we fare better on our visit to the seaside?

Brighton have launched an investigation after excrement was found on the floor of the Crystal Palace dressing room before Monday's Championship play-off second leg at the Amex Stadium.

The incident, an apparent attempt to unsettle the visitors when they arrived at the ground, prompted a furious email to staff from the Brighton manager, Gus Poyet, whose side lost the game 2-0.

"For some reason that is still not clear to me, someone during the day had access to the away dressing room and done [sic] something terrible, trying to upset everyone related to Palace. To say it in clear English, someone had a 'poo' all outside the toilets, over and around the toilets"

I'm sure someone could come up with a great caption to that picture?

The Palace manager, Ian Holloway, writing in the Croydon Advertiser after their victory, made no direct reference to the incident, but did say: "I don't particularly like Brighton now after some of the comments that were aimed at me and the players when we got to the ground, and they deliberately sent the team coach the wrong way too. A couple of other things happened but I'm delighted we managed to put them in our favour."
