One Star Threads. While the board's quiet like it is at the moment, how about trying to encourage people to post threads by giving them all 5 star's for trying. I've noticed a couple of threads I gave 5 star's to have gone down to three star's, you don't have to give them 5, but it'll help to keep the board a bit busier if people are encouraged to post articles.
Er, I tend to rate a thread on it's individual merit rather than trying to encourage people by giving a higher rating to a thread that doesn't warrant it. Quality rather than quantity I would have thought.
I wasn't referring to mine in particular, I was more or less just saying it would be better to encourage posters than to put them off. Of course Joker has a history of trying to put people down, which isn't good for the forum.
How about we just remove star ratings? Hardly anyone takes the time to rate threads and one star phantoms infest this forum. Get rid. They contribute nothing.
Controversial. The problem is though it is very funny seeing the mackems take a hissy fit over it. Rog was creating threads to moan and throwing false accusations around like confetti. It really brightened my day.
Unfortunately I couldn't even claim credit AB. Accused but not guilty. I did one star the thread bitching about one starring threads though. Just for the craic. With Rog I find stirring is not really required. Just the odd remark here or there sets him off on an amusing rant.
Have to say I think Rep has long past it's initial use. I sometimes find myself giving Rep to posts that I don't want to give it to, but if I don't then I can't Rep a comment that I actually deem worthy of Rep. Star ratings just don't work, firstly because they're anonymous and secondly because I doubt anyone chooses to read or not read a thread based on it's star rating. If you like someone's post then just leave your own comment on the same thread saying so, it adds more to the actual debate/topic that way.
