Every single one of us would take 17th right now mate. We are under no illusions what a bag of ****e we are right now. However, we do have far better players than our recent results would tell you so he will have some decent players to work with.
At this point, just scraping above the relegation zone will be a miracle in itself (although I do still think that we will make it). Surely nobody is expecting much better now.
There aren't that many these days mate. They struggle to play for us. Larsson, O'Shea, Celutska, Giacherinni definitely out but fletcher is injured.
Poyet seems like a bloke we can all get behind, no politics or anything like that, so lets do it, get behind him (that's if SSN are correct!)
Poyet doesn't leave me with much confidence ... was hoping for a far more experienced manager I just hope he has the balls, guile and man- management skills to take on the some of our lazy squad ... he needs to hit the ground running I wish him the best luck
Another odd appointment imo. No PL experience & another maverick. You surely need a steady old hand at present, as opposed to someone who might take months to adjust to PL management?
Right now we just need stability and if Gus can bring this over the next few months we'll be fine. We have the players to get us out of trouble, we just need a manager who can motivate them and get some sort of system going, Poyet will do that but I hope we're all not expecting him to work miracles immediately? he's walking into a right mess and will need time to fix it.
Agreed, I wonder if bally will be no2? By the by, if he beats the mags he'll be a hero, he might slide on his face and go one better! I want a dirty fyass toooooooooo!
I'm home for that match as well, if we do beat them I might try that myself after a good bevvy of course. Who was his No2 at Brighton?
Dunno, imagine that, loads of fans looking like they have been camoflauged up with mud strolling over the bridge
I live near Brighton and have been to quite a lot of games. They do play very attractive attacking football, They like to keep it on the deck and pass their way to goal. I'm quite excited by this.
Poyet is my 3rd choice and I'm happy with it. The bloke likes to play modern progressive football. He'll ding dang do for me.
My first reaction too. Only managed Brighton before this so hardly brimming with experience. But if its true then everyone on here is right - get behind him 100% and give him time and space to get the job done. And no baying for his blood if we do go down. Give him time to develop his way of things to get us back up. Not that we're going down anyway - not going to happen!!!
