That's a fair shout on both from what I've seen and heard.

    I think so too.

stelring has struggled coming on into games to get to the pace of it and flogged a great chance to equalize v utd with a bad touch. This start should have been more for him and right or left wing? shouldn't matter. I don't think at 18 he really merits the stale title. I think he needs a run of games but its unlikely he'll get them... and the likes of ibe will be pushing for a go soon

During pre-season, he looked like a boy possessed - I thought his performances were very good and he had a point to prove to everyone.

Disappointing performances in the league - however it's not helped with him being RWB. The boy will come good - just needs to find his confidence and fearlessness. When he first broke onto the scene, he was taking on players, holding them off and using his strength.

Only one game at RWB all the others have been in his preferred position. Think he needs to stop hanging out in the wee hours of the morning.

Sterling was bad in a side that performed well last weekend but it would be cruel too judge him to harshly for that.

We wouldn't get angry at Sturridge if Rodgers decided to play him as a holding midfielder and let a lot of players pass him by.

Sterling is no more a wing back than Downing was a full back.

That said Sterling was great his first few months breaking into the team but opposition know what to expect now... and he's no longer the exhuberent youngster in a team of disenheartened veterans.

The team as a whole is playing better and he has lost his breakthrough excitement... its easy to stand out for a team when you're the only one excited to be on the field.

Sterling is no more a wing back than Downing was an attacking winger. <ok>

But I agree with your post - he stood out in a sh*t team but now the quality of the squad has improved immensely since his breakthrough.
