Pochettino and Boruc nominated for monthly awards

Mauricio has been nominated for Premier League Manager of the Month and Artur Boruc for Premier League Player of the Month.

Cool. I'd say Pochettino has a good chance. Player of the month has to be Ramsey though.

Would like to see Pochettino and Boruc win but honeslty thinkk it will be Wenger and Ramsey.

 

It will be Ramsey and Wenger. Ramsey has 3 goals in 4 games in the league from midfield. And Arsenal won every game during September in the league. But pleased that Poch and Boruc (Who kept a clean sheet in all 3 Prem games during the month) got the recognition they deserve.

 

Yes, I'd have thought it's pretty nailed on to be Wenger and Ramsey. And fair enough.

Poor Adkins couldn't get recognition because we always managed to drop the odd points in a month despite soaring through the Championship. If it is solely judged on points gained, there is no point in having other nominees. I think Mauricio deserves it because he is relatively new to the PL and is building a side up and not just the resident manager at a top club. I know this isn't important in the scheme of things, but have often thought that it should be judged on other factors and not just points gained.
Boruc's problem is that the player of the month is often a goal scorer. Illogically, I also don't like our GK winning the prize as it takes something away from our success....yes, I said it was illogical.

 

It will be Wenger and Ramsey. Pochettino will get October manager of the month are leading Saints to the top of the league after beating Man United and thumping Fulham.

 

I would rather thump United and beat Fulham

Agree with you there on both points.

 

But to win, first you must not lose.
What is very pleasing with this season so far, is that the Saints are a lot more difficult to score against. Just imagine if we won against the spammers by 2 clear goals, we would top the PL now, but in the past we would have lost that game and the game against the Swans.

We used to have a superstition about Manager of the Month, on the rare occasion that our gaffer won it things suddenly went bad on him!

 

I think that's been a superstition for most clubs!

 

I can see MoPo's response now;
