Kevin de Bruyne

Rumoured we are trying to get Kevin de Bruyne on loan. He's out of favour with The Special One and needs first team football to make Belgium's World Cup squad. It's in today's Sun so it might be bollox but then again...

 

Would be absolutely flabbergasted. Easily good enough for a Prem club to want him on loan and not a position we need someone in at all.

 

Just what we need another midfielder ???

Isn't the premiership loan window closed until January, whereas we here in the c'ship face no such restriction so there could be substance in this

Belgian sport section Sport Wereld have this morning revealed that QPR want to take Kevin De Bruyne on loan. They say that Harry Redknapp made contact with people at Chelsea this week to let them know that QPR would be very keen to take De Bruyne on loan for the second half of the season, starting in January.

The idea is that De Bruyne will have until January to see if he can turn his Chelsea problems around, and if not he can move to QPR to get himself some football prior to the World Cup and try to secure his place in the Beglium squad.

However, Championship level football probably wouldn't be what De Bruyne would want considering his career to date, he didn't want a loan anywhere this season and that probably includes dropping down a level. The youngster is wanted by several Bundesliga clubs so whilst there's no harm in being ambitious, it's got to be hugely unlikely that De Bruyne would end up at QPR from January onward.

With the competition as high as it is for the Belgian contingent, a few months in the Championship probably isn't going to impress the national set up. The two most likely options for De Bruyne are to sort out his Chelsea mess or go to the Bundesliga from January.

It's a non starter in January. Only possibility is a short term loan like Grinning Cur says to give him games before he can move to either a Premier League side or a Bundesliga club in January. The Belgium national team is a dark horse in next summers World Cup and to get into it for De Bruyne Championship football wont do.

 

Last season he played for Werder Bremen and was elected as best player whole season. A very gifted player, quick, technically perfect and his freekicks and corners were outstanding. Unfortunately I do not believe that he will join us due to obvious reasons - he could have joined Dortmund and he certainly wants to play in Brazil next year.

 

Can't see this happening in any shape or form....it's probably his agent planting a story to alert the Bundeslige sides that he will available in a couple of months time......
