Brilliant stuff. 5 clean sheets on the bounce. Wish we didnt have a two week gap but hey we are in the top 4 after 7 matches. What a defensive turn around from last season. I think Victor and Dejan have to take huge credit but the wiole team put a real shift in today ( yes even Fox!) Long may it continue! COYR!
Sadly, we have a fortnight to wait. At least the international break isn't as utterly boring as it used to be, what with Rickie being in there.
. Boruc will be playing as well. I've never hated a team as much as Man U. Right now we have the best defence in the PL, Van Persie hasn't scored in two games, hopefully Shaw will be back by then, I would love us to win this one, at Old Trafford!
Saints are being consistent...which is something we have struggled to be in the past. We have a strong defence which means we may lose by the odd goal, but overall will do well. The only thing that worries me is disaster strikes as soon as Saints fans become happy...no one is to run over a black cat or walk under a ladder.
Please, please, please turn the Mancs over - and I reckon you will. Well done on the start to the season btw, makes our win over you look even more impressive
So basically Jääskeläinen is the reason why we aren't going into the international break top! Just have to hope that a combination of a two week break and a trip to Old Trafford doesn't burst this bubble. I don't care who we've been playing, to have only conceded two goals from seven goals is sensational.
Think we have a good chance at OT. Most of United's players will be away for internationals but a lot of ours will stay. Can see that extra prep doing us the world of good.
It should also be noted that Utd have a CL game a few days later. Yes it's at home, so they probably won't rest as many players as they did vs WBA - even more so considering how that then backfired for Moyes. But they might still rest one or two.
Has to be one of our best opportunities to get a result there. No reason for this squad to fear anyone!
Just saw on the BBC website that apparently we have only lost 3 games in the last 19, that blew me away to be honest.
Also.... Thanks to Tottenham's capitulation we now have the outright tightest defence in the league, only 2 conceded, with Chelsea next on 4.
Whats up with Shaw? he always seems to pick up silly injuries and misses games? But I guess that makes it even more impressive, that your best full back gets injured and you have enough cover to still keep clean sheets.
That exactly, he picks up endless illnesses and little one/two week injuries. I do genuinely fear for his long-term future if he can't start settling into long periods of fitness, hopefully he won't become another of the endless list of talented English players who's career is blighted early by injury, but thus far he hasn't suffered any really serious injuries (cross fingers, knock on wood, hail Marys etc.) so hopefully it won't get in his way too much. Wouldn't say 'cover' so much haha, more just that everyone else has to put that extra 10% to make up for his absence, his deputy Danny Fox who is fairly widely villainised by our fan base, although I personally bear him no ill will, is probably one of the worst left-backs in the league.
That shot that came off the post at an 89.9 degree angle helped too. I'm guessing the stat about the small number of shots we have allowed is gone. But at least we scored from open play...against a team that's not going down...and in the first half! Btw always said that Lallana was something special I really hope he can permanently crack the fitness thing now.
