In his defence he is nowhere near the 'Lone Striker' they continue to play him as but apparently there are some rumours going around that some of his fellow team-mates are not confident in him. Seemed isolated yesterday and some of the fans caustic remarks such as 'moves like an elephant' and 'has the wonderful ability to be able to jump less than his own height when going for headers' are a bit cruel.
Fletcher is back shortly and some believe that Jozy will be permanently 'benched'.
I really don't know as he does not appear to be the same player I watched last season at AZ.

Will the mackems have a new manager in place by the time they come here on 2nd November i wonder ?

I watched the game yesterday and apart from a good flick on header half way through the first half and sitting down for a couple of free kicks, I can't remember him doing anything. In fact, he looked exactly the same as he did playing for us, though I agree he shouldn't be playing up top on his own.

I remember that fantastic ability when he played for us  with the right attitude he could be a Drogba/Lukaku type player but he is just a pansy

As it's almost a month away I would assume so.

They'll probably record their first win over us, we're good at breaking records like that.

    Top three Jozy Altidore quotes:

    1. "He moves slower than the continental shift."

    2. "He turns like an 18 wheeler"

    3. "Has the wonderful ability to be able to jump less than his own height when going for headers"

I have never thought he was all that good. I think it was a mistake to leave AZ where he was banging in goals for fun to come to a league that he had already failed in once.

Where are the deluded fools that harped on about how he'd matured and was ready to tear up the division?

    <laugh>

    How very wrong they are.

    He's ****.

Yes and you never thought Klinsmann rated him either. Strange how silent you became when he banged in 5 goals in 5 games for the US National team. He was 18-19 when he played for us in the Prem and had far less service than your hero Graham is getting with players like Huddlestone, Livermore, Brady, Quinn, and Elmo behind him. Did you see any of Jozys games for us...for example when he made Terry look weak. Failed???

Altidore had no support yesterday in a pathetic Sunderland team. They made a big mistake getting rid of Sessignon who would have been a great playmaker for Jozy. His hold up play and layoffs yesterday despite being double-teamed were excellent and he won more balls in the air than Graham has won all season. Interesting how quick you are to write Jozy off...again...but insist that we cant afford to "damage the confidence" of a player who hasn't scored in two years by dropping him.

Even my 11 year laughed at him the other week whilst watching Altidonkey on MOTD and said( and I quote) ' I see he's not changed'.

Just after he missed what was literally an open goal.

For the umpteenth time I watched all the games Jozy played for us. What was it 1 in 28 games? He failed.

Klinsman sat him on the bench for a while, clearly to get his head in the right place. It worked for sure. He is scoring but it is against **** national teams and you know it. Jozy is a good for the US national team because he has class with him. Dempsey, Bradley and Donovan are with him upfront and he is not alone like he is at Sunderland. Everyone knows that Sunderland are not using him properly but that doesnt detract from the fact that he is not a PL striker. Everyone else but you knows he is not a PL striker.

Also who the **** said I like Graham? I simply think he is the best option we currently have (until Gedo is ready to go) but in no way do I think Graham is good. I have said he had a couple good games. Where the **** did you get Graham is my hero from?

Hadn't realised I was picking the Sunderland starting line up every week? But you are absolutely right...good strikers need good support. He has it with Donovan, Dempsey, and Bradley. Watch him make runs off the ball to get into scoring position with the Nats. How many of his goals have been headers...probably 50% for them.

All strikers need good support. With the right support Altidore would have more goals than he currently does. Sunderland are beyond **** and it isnt a fair reflection on how good he is. If I had the choice between Graham and Altidore I would take Altidore. I think with Huddlestone, Aluko, Brady and Elmo (not the Elmo from last game mind you) Altidore would have a couple goals by now. Altdore came into this season full of confidence and I think that would have resulted in a couple goals. Id rather have a striker coming in with confidence than a striker without confidence which is what we got with Graham. Altidore is far to good for the mls, far to good for AZ, I just think that the PL is slightly out of his depth.
