For at least two season, one being the last, QPR have been the holder of unwelcome records. Last season we went for 17 games without a win before Fulham kindly obliged (thanks again FT) and a fair few season back we were the last team in any league to secure a win of any sort. At one stage we probably had the most number of managers in a given time period, most number of court cases involving guns in the board room etc! So, finally, a record to be proud of! Eight clean sheets in a row and a new all time best ever club record since 1882. Not bad at all. Rob Green rightly got the praise yesterday but we all know that the back four, and Richard Dunne in particular, deserve a huge amount of the credit too. I don't know if our unbeaten run in our last promotion season was any sort of record but we are more than half way towards that achievement too. I'm actually beginning to think we might be able to go for many games without a loss. Of course, there is an emotional, illogical supporter in me that wants to believe that. On the other hand, watch the Football League Show. I see few, if any teams, with the solidity of defense that we have and the potential creativity in mid field. More strike power would be just fantastic and the 10 mins of Chevanton yesterday was most encouraging. Let the records tumble! We are QPR and we are well on our way to a fantastic season.
Congratulations on your season R's.Last year was a tough one but it looks like our banter could be restored come August.
Good positive post, mate. With our defence holding tight, at least we do not have to score big to win games and I'm sure there will be many a narrow win as we go through the season. It's nice to win pretty but an ugly win is still pretty good in itself ............... 3 points just the same.
In the 2010-11 season, I always felt a little surprised as to our excellent defensive record, never really had any individual outstanding talent, just excellent teamwork. This season I feel we have far more individual talent, and with each match the collective strength of our back 5 will just get better.
Ditto, there were a couple of famous people who were Norwich supporters, that when we both got promoted really slagged us off, saying we weren't a "proper" team, their logic, "who has ever heard of a city called Queens Park". F***ing arrogant F***ers
There you all go again,Big time Charlies in the Championship already. This is what got you brickbats from most of the other clubs last season. What you need to consider is this:You have won 8 out of 10 so far,but look at those clubs. They are in 11th,14th,16th,19th,20th,22nd,23rd and 24th positions.Just for comparison we have played the teams 3rd,4th,6th,7th,8th and 10th in the Premiership. So don't get too excited.
Their manager wont see xmas so who knows what will happen. There are so many teams Id love to see go down that surely one of them has to go. Saints, Fulham, Stoke, Cardiff, Swansea and Palace. So look for it to be Sunderland Villa and WHU!
