4 points from these 3 games would be a good return. We have points in the bank so gives us a bit of freedom. Anymore than 4 points and we are well on the road .
Would be happy with four also though would rather not get beat at Wigan given I'm taking half a day off and schlepping 200 miles on a Wednesday for the occasion. Millwall is a game you win if you aspire to win the league. Nine goals conceded in their last two.
4pts minimum, 7pts and its ours to lose, looking forward to seeing how good Burnley are! big games to follow that as well Derby & Reading.
Yup !! But at some point we will have a below par performance, for whatever reason; they happen, which is why I would predict the lower 5 - 6 points
5pts is a minimum we should aim for, Burnley will be toughie, a win at Millwall is a must,we always struggle at wigan
....and claim the bonus point! I seriously hope that we are going into these games with the intention of winning them. Teams may be tempted to sit back against the best squad in the league, but hopefully home crowds will get on them and we can counter attack with a bit of speed and venom. All the foundations are in place, time to turn on the style and stomp all over the opposition with no hint of ****ing 'respect'.
Top post - Agree (I was just being cautious in my expectations) I am sure that is what they will be saying to each other in the dressing room.
The Millwall game worries me a bit, only because it's a derby game & generally they can go either way, having said that I think we will come out on top. I think we'll win at Burnley & draw at Wigan, so 7 points for me. The following game is not going to be easy either, at home to Derby.
Our first loss this season may just happen when we least expect it. In our 2010-11 promotion winning season, we were top of the league with most twice as many points as Scunthorpe in bottom place - they were coming off a 6-0 hiding at Norwich, us a 3-0 home victory over Sheff Utd, yet in our April 9, 2011 away fixture we were categorically beaten 4-1, with Rob Hulse scoring our only goal, the first goal of the match. Happily in our next game, away at fan favourite Barnsley, we rebounded to win 1-0. Football, as we all know, can be a funny old game. "QPR boss Neil Warnock: "It was one of those days that sometimes happens in football. It was a game that we could and should have won. We were much the better team for the first half. "We had the chances but we failed to take them. We have got the best defensive record in the Championship this season and one of the best I think in the whole of the Football League. "But we didn't look like that today. I have no complaints about the result, we got what we deserved. But we've got to look ahead, we've got another game coming up on Tuesday [at Barnsley] and I already know the team that I'll be picking for that." Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill: "This was a massive win for us. After last week's 6-0 defeat at Norwich the first thing I wanted from my team today was a performance. "I wanted to see them more like the Scunthorpe teams I have always known, full of energy and making life difficult for the opposition. I have to confess I thought 'here we go again' when Rangers opened the scoring. "But it shows great character from my team that we came back and beat the team that has been the best in our league all season. We are still in a difficult position and we've got a big match coming up against Reading where we need another big performance." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_div_1/12945053.stm
