The ever-reliable Sun today posts this rumour: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...to-do-business-with-Arsenal-over-Willian.html "SHAKHTAR DONETSK are ready to do business with Arsenal over Willian. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been monitoring the Brazilian midfielder, 22, but is reluctant to stump up £13million. Now Ukraine outfit Shakhtar are ready to take Arsenal's own want-away Brazilian, Denilson, in part-exchange plus £4m. Willian has attracted interest from around Europe but has made it clear he wants a move to the Premier League." --- Values Denilson at 9m!! However, he reportedly only has one year left on his contract, so a value for Willian of 13m seems a little far-fetched. He has won the UEFA Cup as well as the Ukranian league. What do you think folks?
Don't know much about this Willian. Where does he play? Anything that gets Denilson out is good in my eyes.
Wikipedia says: Willian is a Brazilian footballer, currently playing as an attacking midfielder or winger for Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk. Willian has also represented Brazil at U-20 level. Honours: Corinthians Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior: 2005 Shakhtar Ukrainian Premier League: 2008, 2010 Ukrainian Cup: 2008 Ukrainian Super Cup: 2008, 2010 UEFA Cup: 2009 Brazil U20 South American Youth Championship: 2007
you don't think? Theo is a striker, and has said he's going to discuss with Wenger about moving up to play forward next season. Nasri might be leaving, and sees himself as a CM, Arshavin is a no10, and is unfit. That's all the winger's Arsenal currently have! Botelho is coming in finally from loan, no guarantee of his quality. I'd reckon wingers are one of the most essential items this summer.
Theo won't me moved forward, Although I think he should be. Nasri and Arshavin will stay and will play wide. Personally I thinnk a Centre back. DM to challenge Song and an out and out striker are more important.
Wilian is decent, but we don't need him unless nasri/arshavin/fabregas goes, he's the typical flamboyant playmaker than wenger likes to constantly buy. i wouldn't belive the denilson price tag - any value placed in the sun is made up, always is.
I hope Wenger is utilising player trades because although players like Denilson, Vela, Bendtner etc have been completely carp over the last few seasons, they're still worth millions in 'potential'.
