http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-million-move-for-striker-Moussa-Dembele.html Fulham have turned down a bid, thought to be worth £10 million, from Tottenham Hotspur for striker Moussa Dembélé. The rejection of the bid predates the appointment of Martin Jol although, interestingly, Dembélé was the first player that the new manager mentioned when he spoke of his desire to work with the present squad. âI know a lot about the squad I inherited,â Jol said. âI enjoy watching players like Moussa Dembélé, who I have known for a while.â Tottenham failed in a deadline day bid for Dembélé in January and are understood to have substantially increased their offer for the 23-year-old Belgian international. Dembélé has made a big impact, despite injury setbacks, on the Premier League since he arrived from the Dutch club AZ Alkmaar last summer for a fee believed to be just under £5 million. Fulham snatched Dembélé from Birmingham City, who thought he was joining them.
If you look at the Fulham v Tottenham FA Cup game you might see him scoring a goal, started from the halfway line went past 3 Spurs players and fired one into the bottom corner.
Why are we bidding for him? I thought we wanted to go forwards, not backwards. I hope this isn't a sign of another transfer window where we spend ALOT of money on players we don't need
I read the title wrong. I effectively read it to say that a Fulham reject has signed for spurs for £10 million.
He looks a decent player, from what I've seen of him and did well in at least two of the three games that we had against Fulham last season, but I'd be worried about his injury problems. He seemed to be missing for most of the campaign.
No. It does mean that the transfer rumours have changed, though. As Atletico appear to be selling De Gea, Forlan, Aguero and the rest of your squad, does that mean that you've given up football altogether?
TBH glad this has been rejected 3 goals in 25 premier league games is not good enough Defoe scored that in one game! hope this is just paper talk we can do alot better than Dembele!
Guys, Dembele isnt an out and out striker more of a midfielder cum striker. At his best in the VDV role either behind the front two or off the main striker. He's certainly a talented player, powerful athletic with great technique. Not sure where we could accomodate him and as much as i admire him we all know we need someone who can lead the line like a drogba. On another note it was interesting to see on sky sports that Harry admitted we tried to sign Phil Jones before he chose man u , obviously he is after another young cb which means bassong is sure to be heading out of WHL. Perhaps he needs to give Steven Caulker a chance.........
A rumour that keeps popping up is a deal for Ryan Shawcross from Stoke, with Bassong going the other way as part of it. That'd make him even more popular at the Emirates!
Because he made one badly timed tackle? Wilshere makes more poor challenges than he does, by a country mile.
Not just because of that one challenge, he is a dirty player and not very good in my opinion. Didn't he get sent off 2 or 3 times last season?
He was sent off twice last season. Once for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity against Fulham and once for a second bookable offence in the last five minutes.
