From the South Wales Evening Post 07/06/11 'Swansea, meantime, have been linked with a move for ex-Spanish international winger Vicente. Reports in Spain claim the injury-plagued wideman, 29, is a target for Swansea following his release by Valencia.' From the interweb- Vicente RodrÃguez Guillén (born 16 July 1981 in Valencia), simply Vicente, nicknamed El puñal de Benicalap (The dagger of Benicalap), is a Spanish footballer. A left winger with above-average technique, pace and netting ability, his career, blighted by constant injuries, was mainly associated with Valencia CF, for which he appeared in more than 300 official games over the course of 11 seasons. Vicente represented Spain at Euro 2004, being an international during the first half of the 2000's. Can't see it happening myself and can't find any 'reports from Spain' on the web
Maybe on pay if you play deal ? Know nothing about this player at though, where do these people get these rumours from ?
Very tidy player and he could easily do a job for us if fit from what I´ve seen of him over the years. Can´t say I was aware he was injury plagued to be honest so can´t comment on that, but the main issue is he is a full on left winger, where Sinclair plays, so I very much doubt we´ll be looking to take on someone with a potentially big salary just to cover one of our best players...
Vicente is quality, if he could stay fit he could get into any team, but he rarely does and he has only played one full season for Valencia since 2004. I would have thought he'd have been on too higher wage anyway. Nice idea, but too expensive and too injury prone.
Vicente is/was quality. Didn't know he was that injury prone to be honest, but from what I can remember of him, he tore defenders to shreds and can provide that killer cross. Think he was on £45,000 a week at Valencia.
