I get what you are saying Spanish but lets not forget what happened the last time we took a bit of a risk.......Roy Keane....and we will be paying for that one for around another 6-7 years.!
Hoppers i get what your saying, i guess its like us signing a steady 30 yr old striker or a 20 yr old striker who has been banging them in for a div 2 side, i would always want us to take a chance on the youngster and that would be the exciting signing for me but not necessary the right signing at that specific time!!
“Does anyone think MM is frightened to drop one of Smith, Chambers or Berra and that is why he is not bringing Hewitt back in at RB “ No. If you look around at even the big clubs, which sides nowadays have BOTH attacking fullbacks that fly forward? We have Cresswell at LB with license to do that, Hewitt is a good player however with him we're far too open. I agree 100% with Chambers at RB. “TBH i have never rated MM, i dont think he is a bad manager but i think he is ok but has his limitations, which i think he is proving.” An OK manager? Are you being serious!? At this level, who on earth could we have attracted who would have done a better job than Mick? So far, he's dramatically reduced the wage bill, reduced loans significantly ( used correctly for Tabb+McGoldrick ), and we are a very competitive side. He DOES have limitations sure, however I am very much delighted we finally since Joe Royle have a manager who knows what the hell he's doing. He's got us 10th after 10 games after spending £20k or whatever on a young lad yet to make a first team appearance. McCarthy is doing an absolutely superb job with us, and long may it continue.
Thanks for the 'shout out' Spaniard nice to see you still think about me after all this time. GK situation .....can't remember what you said....i'll just guess that your wrong... Natural RB.......I think alot of players are capable of playing in more than one position if MM thinks Chambers offers more defencive cover than Hewitt then playing him makes sense to me the great John Wark Played in many positions and Stockwell played every position apart from GK so just goes to show some players can move about. Spotting a Change......i'm sure if MM had of made a change early in the second half and we went on to lose people would say that we dominated the first half so should of carried on as we were. It seems to me that sometimes people forget that the opposition have eleven players also trying to score goals and win the game ...Imo sometimes you have to just hold your hands up and give credit to the other team, we are so far ahead of where we were last season that altough it was a little bit of a kick in the teeth to draw from 4-1 we still scored 4 goals and dominated first half and i'm sure the team will learn alot from this result about never presuming the job is done.

Plenty, actually i would say the best 2 teams in the world opperate with 2 attacking fullbacks, which kinda shoots your theory down in flames, oh for the record Bayern and Barca. This kinda proves that its the way forward. Personally i would rather Hewitt but each to their own.
Would also prefer to see Hewitt, we've seen the benefits that regular game time for younger players can do with Smith Cresswell and Hyam. Even if MM came to the conclusion that Hewitt was the weak link in the back line our defensive record hasn't significantly improved. Purely based on the partnership they formed last season I'd stick Smith and Chambers back in the middle.
I'd like to see Hewitt get some games at home, and stick with Chambers for the away games. I've actually been really impressed with Berra at the back, and I also think he's better in the air than Chambers so can be more of a threat from corners - so although it's a tough call I'm glad Mick has stuck with Smith and Berra in the middle.
It may be a bit harsh but I'd drop Smith and put Chambers and Berra in the middle with Hewitt on the right. But currently I actually think the back 4 is the area that needs to improve the least, we need to improve GK, midfield and uptop more than the back 4 IMO
For me promotion this season is not a possibility and relegation is very unlikely so I reckon I would be bedding Hewitt in.
until the play offs are out of reach and safety from relegation assured i think we should play our strongest team.
Im all for playing Hewitt. We arent very gungho in midfield so when he does make errors I would expect that the CB's or the 2 Cm's should be able to cover him fairly easily. If we had a very attack minded midfield then I could understand a compact defence but I think we can currently afford to take the risk.
No arguments in playing your strongest team, or at least starting with your strongest 11 and then possibly bringing in others if the game is won. The problem being that everyone will have their own take on what the strongest 11 is.
