To be honest, I thought he'd have used tonight to seize the opportunity to be in with a shout of premier league game time. I'm yet to see what he offers and what his strengths are.

Bale like incisive runs down the middle of the pitch setting up our strikers with pinpoint headers.

 

I think the half time analysis showing all his missed passes showed the worry.. seems like we have to wait 8 months for him to gel!

Think I saw a stat earlier saying no corners to us, but 5 to them, I was surprised when I saw it. Not that we seem to be able to do much from corners. Or 4!

Bookmakers have us down as favourites to win the competition. I like their thinking.

We are proving that we are much too good for group K but it's the same old scoring complaint from me. We will have to be more effective in the second half in the later rounds.

I agree Spurcat. Really don't know why Walker had to play every minute. He is one of our key players.

 

Well, it was pretty dull and the injury to Kaboul was a negative, if a fairly predictable one, but the players didn't get out of first gear and we got a win with a clean sheet.
Can't complain too much about that, especially in the group stage.

Team clearly needs a bit of work, but I think that there was a fair amount of just trying to get the job done tonight.
The pitch was horrible and you could see the potential for really bad injuries. It cut up all over the shop in the second half.

Not sure picking Walker and Lloris was necessary. Hopefully neither will be needed when we face Sheriff.
