HAZY TOM 3.50 Bangor 100-30 had the race at his mercy when tipping up last time. Prior to that he had been very highly tried with runs at both Festivals. His run at Aintree is easily excused as he broke a blood vessel. His novice chase win was a victory over Cantlow and I am sure you all know how highly I rate that one. He will have been very well prepared for his return tomorrow and the yard are in great nick. I think he will outclass this opposition in a very tight handicap.
Got a lot of love for Son Of Flicka from Cheltenham 2012 but I'll be leaving him well alone tomorrow. Never convinced over fences back in 2009/2010 and McCain certainly gave up with him over the bigger obstacles fairly quickly. Way too much to prove for me on stable debut for Tony Coyle back over fences and he can go win without my money tbh. Would be great to see him win though.
I'd agree ROTO. The owner trainier combo landed a huge gamble recently so it seems obvious they will try again with this one at some point. I'd expect one of the Cheltenham meetings. Wouldn't surprise me if they keep him over fences to protect his mark over hurdles. Whether they can land another punt on him is another matter I suppose. I'll not be on him on Thursday. There's two or three I really like the look of on Friday so keeping powder dry.
I dont blame the pair of you for leaving the son of flikka alone the race looks very tight anyway without the question marks . On a worse note BHA have given aproval for good friday racing , whats next christmas day lol
Morning all, Southwell 2.00 Sharp And Smart 6/1 Wolverhampton 7.10 Glastonberry 9/2 Singles & E/W double, best of luck all
mornin all- bright and breezy here in north wales at the moment, but they are forecasting biblical rain !! Stick --if the going gets heavy, hazy Tom ok? In the first at bangor--check out Big John Cannon- sure to be primed--25/1--same price as last years winner ! Astorgs Galaxy 5 45 War Woodbank 2 50 Ban Soaring Spirits 200 South CandyMan Can 4 40 War a lucky 15 for me-- and a small interest in the novice hurdler in the opener at bangor....good luck, and watch de weathar maaan !!
Morning all. I'm sure the Euro-sceptics amongst you will be aware that Swanny and I are enjoying a bank holiday today courtesy of "German Reunification Day". I thought Bayern Munich did ze Germans proud last night by running Man City ragged. Very impressive. Whilst unlikely to be anywhere near the top of the Seven Barrows "pecking order", the 2 Henderson horses at Bangor today warrant more than a passing interest. Woodbank looked to have a touch of the "slows" over hurdles and gets a try at the bigger obstacles for his trouble, whereas former Paul Cole inmate Pippa Greene (terrible name for a gelding) looks sure to go close off 118 with Nico taking 5 off. In the bumper Rebecca Curtis' point-to-point winner Cloud Brook will be a warm order but I like the look of the one filly in the race, When In Roam. She was impressive over C&D back in August and the current price around 9/2 looks attractive. Perhaps a win bet on When In Roam and the reverse forecast with Cloud Brook is the order of the day . Best of luck one and all.
Hello all. Not really a tip as such but I shall be having a small each way on RUSSIAN LINK in the last at Warwick today. She is one of two horses I studied whilst I spent a week working for John Berry last month & believe she is going well. She was bought out of Roger Charlton's for just 2,500 in July with a reputation for temperament issues - hence her last 2 runs in a hood. She has settled well into the relaxed routine at John's, spending every night turned out with a small group of other horses and has, I understand, become a bit of a yard favourite. For that reason alone I shall be having a small dabble at 25/1.
Lovely info Princess, thanks for posting. Got to be worth a fiver e/w of anyone's money. Change of yard, handicap debut, bottom weight ......................
Tricky bumper - I wouldn't want to back odds on in it but if the Curtis Cloudy Brook drifts out to odds against I'll be on that one. Won a strong point ftp. The yard farm Bangor bumpers and he's clearly a talented animal. When in Roam will find it harder today.
Cloud brook did that so easily. Put it in your trackers lads. That was an enviable performance from a horse going places.
Goodoldhonkytonk each way at 13/2 in the 5.15 at Clonmel. Very interesting runner for Henry De Bromhead. Handicap debut. Won at the course previously. Strong form behind Shadow Eile as well. Seems far too big at 13/2. I think it's a 7/2 chance.
