Who the fcuk do you think you are calling me an alcoholic. You're not going to get away with calling me names or trying to bully me. You've been asked a direct question to name what team you'd pick but yet again you avoid giving an answer because all you do is wum and talk sh.it. I Know what team you'd pick we all do on here. The team YOU would pick would be LIVERPOOL
Laudrup wanna get the 9-12 points in the Europa League as fast as possible so Swansea can concentrate on the Premier League. So more or less strongest squad Thursday (think Rangel bring more speed in our game so Laudrup wanna save him for Southampton. The same with Davies). The Southampton team will come tomorrow. please log in to view this image
Strongest side for both games - ok, but what do you consider to be our strongest side. with michu and bony if in the side - the question is who would YOU pick, not michu and bony IF in the side. YOU have the choice. Every other position is even and don't mind who plays. - this suggests that apart from michu and bony you consider that every other position can be filled by two equally good players, so 'strongest side for both games' becomes irrelevant for 9 out of 11 positions as there is no strongest side. It's contradictory. ...and you think Monk/Amat is an equally good combination in central defence as Williams/Chico? I hope not.
St Gallows Tremmel, tiendalli Chico Amat Ben JDG Canas Leon Poz Bony Pablo Saints (no gallows) Vorm Rangel Chico Ash Ben Shelvey Leon Dyer Michu Routs Bony Tactis - both games - pass to the guys you know (except Nathan against Saints) Kick it hard towards their end Remember - you've got to shoot to score. What's the prize PGF - dilli told me first prize was a drink with dai - second prize was a night with Dai and third prize a week with dai
We all know Dai won't name his first 11, I say won't, the twat can't, he doesn't know 11 Swansea players.
Musty, sounds like Ash will miss tonight and the Southampton game. Laudrup saying he hopes that Ash won't be included in the Wales games, as he needs to get over his ankle injury.
There are a couple with 2 guesses wrong. I in the end had 4 wrong Vorm -> Tremmel Tiendalli -> Rangel Canas -> Britton Dyer -> Routs So pretty much like for like wrong calls, so not too unhappy with my guess Well other than Rangel, who was guesswork whether he would be fit in time or not. And due to injuries only, will just update my Southampton squad. Super idea with both Canas and Britton when we are leading fx in the 70-80 minut - is perfect. Going to be interesting if we are gonna see a striker this time. A bit pointless to spent 12 million on a striker if we wont use him against Southampton.
That it is, but its also pointless to play a £12m striker if our defence are all over the shop and conceding more goals than our £12m man can score It is what we like to call the lesser of 2 evils.
Playing with no striker have given us 1 win in 18 Premier League matchs (against the bigger teams or atleast the waste waste majority of them). That is not succes in my eyes. Southampton have only scored 1 goal so far in open play, and they have a super defense . No point in playing with 2 defensive midfielders (if our opponent extremly rear score in open play). Lets bring in the heavy cavalry. Bony is great against set pieces and he makes our attack look much more deadly.
That's an interesting stat. Now does that include no striker playing at all, or just without starting a striker, because if the latter, your stats are wrong. As in the last 14 games we have won 2 games in which a striker did not start (Crystal Palace, Newcastle). And of those 14 games, many of those a striker did start, so the number wouldn't be close to 18, so I can only imagine that your talking about not playing a striker at all for the full 90 minutes which I find interesting, as cannot think of many games that we played no striker at all, so may I ask what games you are referring too in your 18 games. But anyhow, that is not what we are talking about, we are talking starting line ups, which without strikers has been proved to be just as good, if not better than when we have played strikers due to the results against a higher calibre of opposition. And with Southampton, mixed in with our currently unbalanced defensive line, I personally think Laudrup would be a fool to go with Bony in this game, I would personally play the same tactics as we did against Arsenal, keep our back line safe, then bring on Bony in the latter stages to cause their tiring legs problems. Thats not because I don't think Bony is worthy of a starting spot, I very much like Bony, but, there is a time and a place for him starting, and for me, that is not whilst our defensive line is the weakest it has ever been, against a team that can attack.
When I talk of 18 matchs without an striker is among the starters (did I need to say that). It make better sense to use two defensive midfielders against lethal offenses like Arsenal or United (not against an impotent offense like Southampton - when you consider their stats). Since Southamptons defense is very good, it do not make any sense to go for a (no striker), unless you are satisfied with an draw, against a team we should have the quality to beat.
