Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley reportedly talked Alan Pardew out of resigning as Newcastle manager.

The Magpies fell to their third Premier League defeat in six games, after a 3-2 defeat against Everton at Goodison Park.

Romelu Lukaku scored a brace, and Ross Barkley also found the net as Newcastle's defence fell apart in the first 45 minutes.

Ashley watched the first half capitulation from the stands, alongside director of football Joe Kinnear.

According to TalkSPORT, Pardew met Ashley after the game and 'offered to resign' as Newcastle manager.

However, the former Charlton and West Ham manager was given a vote of confidence by the owner, and told that his job is safe.

Pardew signed an eight-year contract extension at St James' Park last September - a deal that ties him down to the club until 2020.

Newcastle have conceded six goals in their last two Premier League games.

They travel to Cardiff City at the weekend, followed by games against Liverpool, Sunderland, Manchester City (League Cup), Chelsea and Tottenham

If true Ashley is a fat **** but I don't really believe it - Pardew knows he would never get a better job than this - its pure Jobs for the boys and I honestly don't believe he has the balls to resign.

I truly hope so..... but maybe they are as skeptical as we are and wouldn't want to print such a tall tale.

If this really is true I'm beyond angry.

Someone should tweet Mark Douglas or George Caulkin to see if there's any substance to it!

ACS- NUFC‏@Albertschipshop 7m
@CaulkinTheTimes Hi George- any truth in the rumour that Pards offered to resign last night? #NUFC

George Caulkin‏@CaulkinTheTimes 2m
@Albertschipshop why would a manager with a seven-year contract offer to resign?

ACS- NUFC‏@Albertschipshop 43s
@CaulkinTheTimes dunno fella hence the Q. Talksport apparently reported it. I guess your answer means you think it is inaccurate.

He has a point mind.
No matter what the pressure on him.... he needs to force MA's hand to get a pay off..... that's what I'd do anyway.

You say it like they'd know <laugh> Useless feckers.

Has Mike not got a twitter account? He'd know. I think Joe should have one. He could super impose his head onto the body of Joe90, and then lavish all his wise worldly musings on us. I'd get a twitter account if Joe did that. Did anyone else note his two fingered salute to the press last night?

Every game brings yet another 'Pardew Out' rumour. I reckon Joe Kinnear offered Pards' resignation for him. The fact that Pardew didnt know about it meant Mike couldn't accept it.

I think Caulkin is pretty reliable to be fair. Lee Ryder on the other hand is a different matter.

Lock this thread and remove the link. You're only helping NufcFans' abbhorent Umar make money from his rehash of Talksport's fabricated nonsense - and I can't even find that.
