    Some interesting predictions...

The list (highlight below): (better to use link to read their reasoning though)
1 - Newcastle Will Finish Above Sunderland
2 - Joey Barton Will Stay
3 - Newcastle Will Reach a Cup Final
    4 - Gervinho Will Sign
5 - Newcastle Will Qualify for Europe
6 - Mike Ashley Will Have a Quiet Season
7 - Shane Ferguson Will Make 20+ Appearances
8 - The Ameobi Brothers Will Start a Game Together
9 - Tim Krul Will Establish Himself as No. 1
10 - Alan Pardew Won't Last the Season (doesn't make much sense with 6)

What i'd give for all of these to happen

apart from 10 obviously and 8 would be bad in it's own way but great in another

"Mike Ashley will have a quiet year."

"Alan Pardew wont last the season." (Why does the writer think we'll get into Europe, and a cup final, but even this wont be enough to keep Pardew in a job?)

    <doh>

Other than that, it's quite optimistic but other than Pardew getting the sack that would be a brilliant season.

    Its a good article.

When I saw the title of the thread I thought, where does Pardew getting sacked come into this!

Some of the stuff makes me think he doesn't even watch the matches. We would have all been happy to see the back of Barton last summer? Danny Simpson is flourishing as an attacking full back? Our left flank is thin? (It's not exactly teaming with life but it's been our main source of attack all season...)

I predict 4 out of 10 will happen, Ferguson will play 20 games, vast majority from the bench though.

    Can't see 4 or 8 happening and can't see 3 and 5 happening together

If we made the Carling Cup final, I think Pardew would be safe. Assuming we dont capitulate like Brum. But if we sign Gervinho, as predicted, them we'll have 5 or 6 top quality players. More than Brum had this season

1 - Can't see us finishing above Sunderland just yet.
2 - Joey Barton could stay. If he has a good season its possibly MA and DL can change their minds about offering him a new deal.
3 - we don't have enough strength in depth to reach a cup final.
4 - From what i'm hearing this is pretty much a done deal?
5 - Again not enough strength in depth.
6 - MA never has a quiet season. Something will happen.
7 - Possible from the bench.
8 - Can see this happening once injuries and suspensions take their toll on the squad.
9 - Too soon. He comes across too nervous to me at times.
10 - Won't happen. Why offer someone a 5 year deal to sack them before they have had one full season. This side needs stability.

So are these just random seperate predictions or are they saying they will all happen together?

Pardew signing Gervinho, keeping ahold of Barton, finishing ahead of the mackems, getting to a cup final, and getting into europe but still being sacked would be typical Mike Ashley.

Regardless of what we do in the cups there's at least 5teams worse then us at the moment and we still have the transfer window to go :)
