I'm caught on both of these although I naturally favour 999's quote............................ anyway, I'll put it out there, who says we have to lose ? I don't expect to win them all but you could throw in an awful lot of draws.
Not playing on this thread Saturday was the first time we played with a bit of verve...before that it was a game of chicken (cannot remember who said that in a previous thread...but I acknowledge you)...."How bad can we play with out losing"...was the game We will lose, we will lose soon...but how we respond to that loss will decide our season
That is tough , Millwall away has a horrible feel to me, would happily take 3 or 4 points from those three fixs. Anymore and we will be well on our way.
As no one's said it, and the laws of tempting fate being what they are, I'll say at home against Barnsley next Saturday.
Bottom beating top happens. I remember in the 70's being bottom if the old Div 1 and beating Ipswich who were top at the time. (God, Ipswich top of Div 1 ... that was a long time ago!)
But the bottom team were at home.... And it was MILLWALL. Both Harry and Colin said it was a tough place to go to regardless of position in the league. That was part of the talk sport interview too
It will come when we least expect it ????? But as Beth says, its how we react that is more important.
Taking my rose tinted glasses off, October is definitely shaping up to be a tough month with three away fixtures on the cards. QPR v Barnsley Sat 5 Oct 15:00 (4-0) Millwall v QPR Sat 19 Oct 15:00 (1-1) Burnley v QPR Sat 26 Oct 15:00 (2-1) Wigan v QPR Wed 30 Oct 19:45 (0-0) Barnsley at home we should breeze by, and hopefully Rob Green will attain that 8th record breaking shut-out. Millwall will be tough, but I think we'll get out with a draw, but Burnley could be our banana peel, with Ings & Vokes scoring for fun (both on 6 goals), and the team apparently not missing Charlie Austin. We may also finish the month with just a point at Wigan. So I believe our worst case scenario for October could be only 5 pts from a possible 12, but on the other hand, given last Saturday's impressive team performance, we could very well do much better. Championship - top scorers:- 8 Rhodes (Blackburn) 8 Vaughan (Huddersfield) 6 Deeney (Watford) 6 Ings (Burnley) 6 Vokes (Burnley)
Blimey, your glasses still look to be a bit on the pink side to me mate! Surely that'd equal our best ever start to a season, wouldn't it? Hope you're right though. I'd bite your arm off for that run of results right now, thanks very much
