Why do we look like conceding everytime the opposition attacks? Why do we panic so ****ing much

We **** about in the tackle, we knock it this and that way just begging for someone to not do it properly and they score. Why dont we look solid?

Henderson doesnt work as wing back, hes better in the middle. I lost count the amount of times his crosses fell to Sunderlands defence

Pleased with the win obv but things aren't right, we look soft as **** when defending. When we come up against a better attack we will concede

I don't think it helps that we haven't had a settled back for apart from the first couple of games (which coincidently we got clean sheets in). Since then, Johnson's been injured, Wisdom's played in bits, Skrtel's come back, Agger's missed out, Enrique's been dropped a couple of times and we're trying to intergrate Sakho, Toure & Mignolet into the team.

3 new players out of 5 will take some time to get used to the way we play and settle.

I agree we look soft when defending, crosses and corners into the box today, and most games this season have me like a nervous wreck.

hopefully it will settle down soon before we play arsenal.

  5. I thought Migs looked a lot better with the set pieces today and helped the team out a lot. Shame he made a mistake for their goal but, despite nearly ****ing up again shortly afterwards (it went through his hands but out for a corner), he recovered well <ok>

One problem I see is everyone stands off the ball I don't know what happened to the 7 second rule for getting the ball back? We seem to let teams onto us and there is also big gaps between midfield and defence.

  7. We were doing that at the start of the season. Maybe the change in system has seen that approached shelved whilst the players adjust to the new system

he made a brilliant save with his leg at point blank range.
I'm not sure our poor set piece defending is down to him alone, new keeper, lost carra, new lads at the back, I think are all playing their part so hopefully like I said it's just a case of a settling in period for all.

it certainly looks like we have a more than adequate keeper for the next few years anyway.

who knows? I agree it seems to have gone out the window and more about keeping shape when we lose the ball, perhaps that's because we've taken the lead in most games so far, we are sitting and soaking up too much pressure for my liking at the mo anyways but it's seems to be working out okay so far, getting points while not looking even close to top form is a rare and welcome feeling though lol

Well you must've watched a different game to me then. His shot stopping is excellent, but boy, does he flap at a lot of crosses.

  10. Its not flapping, he punches or pushes them clear. He very rarely catches crosses, ask the black Cats!

I know where you are coming from, but gotta say it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence when he punches one 5 yards behind his head.
Don't get me wrong, I think he's a very good keeper, and an upgrade on Reina of the last two years, but I just wish he'd catch a few more under pressure.

I only saw the 2nd half today, but he seemed to come and get something on all the corners/crosses that he attempted today. The first few games he was a but flappy but seems to b getting better. I don't mind him not catching, as long as his punches clear the area.

  13. I agree with you, I'd like to see him catch it more (which I think he did well a couple of times today still) but I suspect you won't be getting your wish, continental keepers don't like to catch. Its a safety first approach; punching offers a higher success rater of clearing the danger than attempting to catch it.

    Their goal hacked me off.

We allowed the Sunderland player (can't remember who it was) too much time and space to get
the initial shot in.The ball was on his left, then too easily shifted onto his right and in came the shot
which lead to the rebound opportunity.

We must shut space down more quickly in the 25 to 30 yd. area.

Just something that stuck out for me today.

Don't you have better things to do like modding the board rather than picking out typo's FFS <doh>
