Seems like dumbfuckery total to me.

As an aside, for those who have never seen it, check out Derby v Fulham (last game of '83 season) for some exceptional viewing. It's featured on Big Match Revisited - which seems to be on a loop on ITV4 or ITV3 (I forget, but one of those other channels by ITV that is somehow worse than ITV1).

11 points from 9 is hardly the worst start for Derby. Clough hasn't done anything remarkable for a while now but i still don't think he deserved the sack now. Surely you would of done it when a manager could mould the squad a bit more, unless you are writing this season off already.

I think Clough is a scapegoat to take attention off a board that has shown little ambition for a long time now.

While Clough was forced to rely on youth due to a tight budget, big spending East Midlands rivals Forest and Leicester have left Derby in their wake. Recent defeats to both clubs highlights this contrast in policy so Clough had to be the fall-guy.

It's interesting that this frugal policy and the lack of success it brings is exactly what some posters on here wish we had.

Is it? <confused>

I don't think we ever really discuss that side of it on here. Everyone knows we're a small club who can't compete financially at this level. I certainly don't remember seeing anyone complain that we spend too much.

I would sooner be a Derby fan than a Pompey fan, or a Wimbledon fan.

Stuff like this:

“If our fanbase is incapable of sustaining top-flight football, then that's tough. Clubs always find their natural level eventually. Ours is probably around mid-table in the Championship, so we are currently overachieving. If we were in League Two and playing in front of 9,000 fans, and you were talking about spending £250k on a player, I'd agree that we needed to get back to 'our level' and should go for it. You aren't though.”

UTTER UTTER MADNESS

I hope they go down now. Nigel Clough was doing a very good job on a very limited budget. Derby could well end up being the next Sheffield Utd(now bottom of league one atm) and the owners would only have themselves to blame. imo.

Eraly reports on ssn have Tony Pulis in the frame as he was at the game with Forest. Coincidence or what ? Maybe........

No it ain't Craigy. They want the Allams to splurge all of their money on the club, whilst letting a small group of fans make all the decisions around players, make marketing decisions, decide who are the proper fans and allowed in etc.

I'm not sure why you continue to post ****e like this, presumably it's just to get a rise out of people. The majority of City fans want their club to remain Hull City, that and that alone, is why there is a campaign.

We are still HULL CITY and will remain HULL CITY with TIGERS being added for commercial use.
The HULL TIGERS name is to be used for commercial use outside the UK as I read the owners comments.

All the "Tubthumpers" need to learn to read (and not between the lines)

I read it, what you said is still nonsense, nobody wishes for a lack of success.

You've lost the argument, stop digging.
