Just saw the news, and Derby are mid table. Well there is going to be a team out there who will get the chance to bring in a manager with potential without paying a penny

Gob smacked that Derby have sacked him - must be more to it than results - they are after all 14th despite spending less money than most

Sorry, but why would our board get rid of SoD?? He is carrying out the playing side of the "5 pillars plan". We have to abide by a budget that is already restricted due to people like Kilkenny etc on big contracts.

We can't keep chopping and changing our manager every 5 minutes.

The club is in massive transition (OFF the pitch as much as ON) - the medicine to fix things is a bitter pill, but necessary to make things better in the long run.

I've got a sneaky feeling that Clough will go onto be a success. I don't want him but just a feeling. Plus I don't think they are under to tight of a purse string after all they guzzumped us for Keogh.
SoD will get us out of this mess, but to what cost I don't know said it for a while, now next season is ours.

If the worse comes and we have to choose a new manager I would go for the mad Italian

From the report i watched on TV it sounded very similar to us that Clough was brought in with a long term plan to reduce the wage bill and bring in younger players but the board and fans werent happy with the time and results they got back from waiting

I would have thought that the 90% of us who did want GJ gone, are pleased that he went and we got another 3 years in a league we clearly didn't deserve to be in! GJ was taking us down that season. The players hated him! And a punch up with Ivan Sproule whilst losing to a shambles of a club in Plymouth was the final straw.

Anyone who thinks GJ should have remained is barmy and blind to ignore the basic fact the players no longer were willing to play for him!

This season is turning out to be ay harder than most of us thought but we have to give it time. We simply cannot go sacking another manager unless something radical goes wrong - the results are not what we want but it's just too soon for a knee jerk reaction right now. I'm as depressed as the rest of you but we have to maintain faith that better times are just around the corner and when they come, it will be good to be a City fan again. At least that's what I keep telling myself.........<whistle>

No point in sacking him until we have the right replacement ready... Our problem is we keep employing the wrong people time and time again, because our board are inept and have no idea how to run a football club. Coppell was wrong, there should have been alarm bells there when he left a perfectly good Reading, Millen was completely wrong, McInnes was wrong because they had no idea how he trained, and his training according to players, was abysmal and they may as well of all had the day off. SOD again, wasn't right when we could have had him before Millen, before McInnes, so what made him right this time round god only knows.

He isn't right for us or anyone.

We've heard this for 9 consecutive league games yet it's still to materialise...............as is a single victory

I dont care if we win luckily or scrape in with an own goal in the 90th minute to win 1-0, but this run of results is not acceptable

The football is not better, what I saw Saturday was a team running out of ideas as the Plan A game isn't working. The possession game is pointless when its in your own half! Utterly pointless.

I was Anti SOD before he arrived, as soon as I heard him being interviewed by Twentyman he screamed the incorrect choice. You cannot say I am desperate for him to fail, as that doesn't benefit any fan, and I wouldn't have bothered renewing my season ticket if I thought like that. Some of us are just a million miles ahead of the curve than some.

'I agree 100% but the football is better'

I've heard it all now - personally I'm not sure which is worse - SOD's Plan A or Plan B.

    Plan A 1st half Colchester.
Pass SLOWLY across the back and allow Colchester to get back behind the ball denying us any space in their half.
    OR
    Plan B 2nd half Colchester.
Bring on a Lump and launch every thing coming down from 80' in the air.

'but the football is better' - You're having a laugh.
