Mourinho was originally Bobby Robson's interpreter at Sporting moving with him to Barcelona where he also worked with van Gaal as well? He then worked with the Barcelona B team coaching the reserves? Sound familiar? Van Gaal gave him an opportunity to work with the first team and as they say the rest is history

Bally has far more experience of working in a dressing room environment already and has 6 or 7 years with he youths; reserves and under 21's development teams. He has all his coaching badges and is as prepared and ready for this as any candidate out there imo. For me, I'd give him the chance as Mourinho was given all those years ago. He is our special one already so we will give him a chance as fans too. Far more than Poyet, Grant, Pulis or McClaren will get.

My point on this Meulensteen fella mate.

Sbragia was the absolute wrong choice to be a manager because he was a decent and nice bloke who wouldn't upset anyone or push and shout at people. He simply was never a manager. Bally is a born leader of men. He was a fantastic captain and bossed the dressing room under Reid as a general. He is a great man manager and cracking bloke but has a heart of steel and a desperate will to win. No-one will pull the piss under his stewardship but in a far better way than PDC tried. He would have that dressing room rocking and players enjoying life and football under them and you know what, if players go out and have a drink after work and have a great working environment I don't really give a ****e. I just dont want monks and vicars playing for us I want a team. That's not to say they can bring the club into disrepute but simply not feel they are living under a dictatorship. I reiterate, no player will dare take the piss out of Bally.

The more I think about this the more I feel it has to be Kevin Ball at this moment in time. Right man right time.

Disgree fully Cest. Bally as a number 2 would be my choice, but never is he a #1. Players will still respect him, and want to win for him even if he's a number 2. Get him more involved with the first team, but not as a manager. Muelensteen has more tactical nous than him, and has picked up more from SAF over this last decade than Bally would have picked up from Bruce, MoN, and I dont think PDC would even have taught him anything. Rene worked with the biggest names in the Footballing world, and they all respect him... he wont stand on any toes and the players will want to play for him.

And if anyone says he got sacked after 16 days at Anzhi, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time - the owner had a breakdown and wanted rid. Much like people fear can happen at Chelsea, Liverpool, Citeh and even at us. I rate him, and think he will do good.

My point was, Spragia V Mulenstien, there's no comparison mate. Spragia was a coach at a struggling team, us. He would never have been offered a job as a manager with any other EPL team, no way.

To be fair to this Mulenstien, he's an unknown entity, but one that comes with a very, very good coaching pedigree. He may turn out to be a ****e manager just as Poyet may turn out to be a flop, we don't know. All of the candidates, apart from Pulis & McClaren are unproven at this level so any one of them would be a big gamble. For me Mulenstien is the pick of the crop. At least he has EPL experience, maybe not as a manager but he has been around top class players for long enough and as Bally quoted the other day, as a coach he does just about everything the manager has done anyway. Just not in the limelight.
