In China for the Olympics and now in Brazil for the world cup people get ****ed out of their homes which are then demolished.

    Where you been?

    Read more? <yikes>

Theres enough there to keep you going all day

I'll do a Zingy and just say this is bad, which it is

I think the fact they got the world cup is a bloody joke anyway and all this moving it to winter etc

Blatter is a twat and the quicker he resigns/gets fired/dies the better for football

FIFA could do with a political ****storm that will give them a plausible excuse for pulling the plug on this nonsense.....

I would be happy if FA managed to pull out with some other FAs and start a new, less corrupt, body.

Even if it meant fewer friendlies and less important competitions.

Only way fifa will become less corrupt is to burn it down and start fresh.

Fifa shouldn't have given bid to Qatar... and should be paying a little more attention to it now that they have.

I suspect if they don't its because they don't get paid their bribe money until after the wc.

I agree about FIFA being destroyed, but unfortunately it'll never happen, worse is to follow shortly btw, as the English hating Platini, is an absolute shoo in to be Blatter's replacement. <doh>

They won't / can't pull the plug on their bent decision, as they daren't risk the Qatari's exposing the FACT, that they've all had their noses in the trough & have been bunged $M's in order to buy their votes.

  7. True. However, since they have done my question is why wasn't the heat issue discussed beforehand?

They were too busy counting their bounty, to be interested in mere incidentals like; "won't it be a bit ****ing hot in the desert in July for footie like?"

Why do we have stupid names like "forced labour"? If men are having documents removed so they can't leave the country then surely they have been enslaved.

This is nothing new though. My mums cousin was a human rights lawyer in Bahrain in the 80's and he always said the oil rich states have never really abolished slavery, it's all just better hidden these days.

    **** you FIFA <ok>

With reference to the op Sisu...I can't imagine how barbaric a nation has to become to kick people out of their homes and demolish them in order to build a footy stadium eh <whistle>

What a fitting legacy for the 'reign' of Sepp Blatter this whole tawdry episode has been. The old **** will probably be dead by 2022, but he should know before he goes that this will all be engraved onto his tombstone.

The worst thing is that this issue reared it's ugly head a couple of years ago & both the Qatari's & FIFA said they'd investigate it. Now they're denying that it directly relates to the WC when it's of course intrinsically linked

The self serving, greedy, immoral horrors should have to walk a week in the shoes of these enslaved workers - & I'd wager most of the bloated twats wouldn't live to see the end of it,,,,,,

FIFA is corrupt. The men in FIFA are corrupt. The men who want the World Cup to bring credibility to their countries are corrupt. They're scum of the earth, rich bastards who have never been taught human decency. The world of football is corrupt, yet no one really wants to look into it. It's awful when you see that the whole thing is a circus run by corporations, businessmen, Asian match-fixers, political lobby groups, and more. Viewers are manipulated into thinking football is a fair battleground when in fact it's a wasteland.

FFP rules touted as the next big thing to stop money rich clubs from buying out football - turns out that they're used as a tool to completely milk small Eastern European clubs of their remaining money. It keeps the little ones down and does nothing about the elite.

TV deals destroy small clubs, create gaps and make the rich richer. Shirt sales change a club's identity, name, colour, and history. What is football coming to? Qatar apparently.

Qatari ruling class buys the World Cup for the last place on earth that should get it - and it's given to them to "promote football diversity". Human rights violations are now being made all in the name of foreign enjoyment. "What a great little country Qatar is, I suppose we can overlook their ties to terrorism, slavery, and opulent greed now."

To be honest, I'd rather turn my head and cover my eyes because there is no way on earth this will change. And the more I see and learn about FIFA, UEFA, the FA, and more, the scarier the thought gets. Who wants to figure out that their club or country is involved? I don't. So come 2022 I'll be cheering my team on and no one (including me) will remember the Nepalese workers that died making those stadiums in the desert.

Anyway, I'm done being cheerful now.

This Story makes me sick!! Sep Blatter should be charged with manslaughter!! I think they should just cancel the 2022 world cup and give the money to charity instead I certainly won't be watching it anyway. How they could let football get tangled up in this mess just for their own personal benefit? I'm literally raging, its getting harder and harder to stay in love with football.

if they don't take the world cup away from Qatar it will be a failure anyway. ordinary decent people like to follow football for things like inspiration, local connections, history, celebrations, fair play etc etc so if asked to look past abuse of women, non-straight people etc, while also having to deal with heat and expensive travel in a country with no real cultural worth to speak of then I think enough people just wont bother
