Cooper would have been a great replacement, but he got pushed out for a **** like Alex ****ing Bruce, the worst excuse for a footballer I've seen in a long long time. 6 ****ing grand a week + 2 for making the squad every week. Cheers Dad x

Alex Bruce is not that bad, he was an integral part of the side that earned us automatic promotion. He wouldn't be my first choice PL centre half, but as cover for injuries he'll be absolutely fine.

I don't get Hull City fans who perpetually have to slag off specific players, for no good reason, I've been guilty of it in the past. Your energy would be better spent supporting the 11 starting players than writing a load of vitriolic bullshit on here <ok>

how come Alex Bruce who hasn't played in the premier league yet, is already being blamed for a potential defeat to west ham, while elmo who has already been at least partly responsible for 3 goals due to his complete inability to defend causes very little worry ..

Didn't you know it's a Hull City tradition amongst the supporters to have a whipping boy every single ****ing season? Personally I blame the plastics......... ah, **** I shouldn't have said that.

I haven't seen anything on this thread that could be described as "slating", certainly not if you compare to the treatment Delaney underservedly suffered at our hands.

But to put things in context, does anyone actually think he would not be in the situation that faced Jack Hobbs in the Summer had he not been the managers son?

The truth is that Alex Bruce is a capable Championship defender, nothing more nothing less, and he will be targeted by other Premiership sides should he ever get on the pitch.

Yep, if it was me I'd have loaned Bruce out and kept Hobbs. Like you say though, it's the nepotism thing that might have swung it the way it has. Bruce was decent last season, but not spectacular. Hobbs was a slightly better version but both were behind Chester.

Who knows though, maybe Bruce will surprise all of us. But if he doesn't and does make mistakes I do hope we (as fans) don't do the usual thing and make him the scapegoat for every bad result.

a lot of truth to be fair, but you could say the same about one of the other options but he just has the advantage of having a catchy song about him..

How can anyone have a go at Alex Bruce?
If he plays a run of games and is crap then fair enough, but give the bloke a chance first.
He could suprise everyone and be quite capable at this level, he deserves a crack at it.
Faye or Bruce on Saturday don't matter which one really, nobody is moaning about Faye's complete lack of pace are they?

And Bruce came to us because no-one else in the Championship was interested.

He's brave but sadly lacking in ability, Faye might be past his best, but he still buys and sells Bruce.

I agree Alex Bruce is a good steady player, who generally won't let you down. I think Faye will play Saturday through, as we need a dominant player in the air to combat big Sam's tactics.

Faye is class but he does seem prone to giving silly free-kicks/penalties away when he gets caught out for pace.

I thought Bruce did OK last season but didn't really fancy him when he was pushed up into a defensive midfield role.

It's self perpetuating - you tell people they are **** often enough then they will be.

It's common sense to play Faye on Saturday. West Ham will bring a physical game and put lots of crosses into the box, therefore it's a game perfectly suited to him. On the topic of Bruce Jnr, I for one thought he was solid last season when played at centre back. I think however many peoples perceptions of him are slightly tainted by his stint in midfield, where he obviously wasn't suited to the role.

    Rosenior Davies Figueroa Dudgeon

That would be my back four.

Play Elmo Right wing and give Dudgeon his chance, No disrespect to West Ham but at home with their lack of goal power is his best opportunity to grow some confidence, he was great for a few games last season, he has very good potential.

    Sorry to intrude...

For the next two games, do I put Rosie, Faye, or Bruce in my FPL team?

They are the only options as I have £3.9m spare, and reckon you have a good chance of clean sheets in the next two...

Tricky one, I'd be tempted to say Rosenior, based on his last couple of games he deserves a start. Not 100% certain which of the other 2 will start, it will be one or the other. Sod's law you'll pick one and it will be the other that plays!! <laugh>

We couldn't tell you ourselves Jack. I'd say Rosey is most likely to start out of the 3 but there's a good chance any of them could be on the bench.
