Not going to get into the Gerrard argument but his passing accuracy for the season so far (not including tonights game) 85%
That just has to be a joke. They must have found the smallest cross-section of fan base possible. Can't believe any one would be so stupid
Well they do ask people what they're going to say before they let them live on air. They're hardly going to let the sane, normal fans speak - wouldn't make a good show. Disappointing to lose, felt we should have been level after 90minutes at least. We played well I thought overall, better than when we beat them but I guess that's just football. Missed too many chances and looked like we were trying to be too clever at times in or around the box when we should have just put the laces through. Suarez looked much more of a team player. Hardly tried to go himself to unlock the defense. Not sure if that's good or bad though. Our players, for 60k a week+, should be able to use both fooking feet. It's not hard. I practiced my left foot back in school because we had no left winger in the team. Not sure why professionals still can't even sidefoot with their weaker one Wasted chances.
Feel not signing Ericsson ,if it was on the cards to do so, will be a massive mistake. Aspas and Alberto may turn out to be good players but not at this moment. Courthino was badly missed and showed how lacking in creativity we are if he's not there. I thought Suarez did well tonight but his game sharpness was not there. United were no more than mediocre but showed again what a finisher like Hernandez can do for a team. Like fowler and Owen did for us. Can't understand why he accepts that bit part role there ,should be playing every week.
And Sterling, would rather see any of Ibe, Aspas or Alberto on the pitch before Sterling at the moment.
Any other season... real mad wouldn't have bought Bale and would have had the funds left to buy Suarez. We could have bought Ericsson and still had money left for another couple of quality players and a tuna fish pizza.
So we won right? Not happy about it but I got the prediction dead right again. Sounded like Gerrard was way off and we missed Coutinho ( again). Kelly and Sterling? I thought we got depth in the transfer window in those positions?
I know I'll get some stick for this, but I'm kind of glad we are out of the league cup. It would have just been a distraction for us, with limited squad strength and a long injury list it would have meant our league form would have suffered. Its always nice to win silverware but we need to concentrate on rebuilding the team and the club back into a title contender, the first step of which has to be the CL. Until we get there we will mostly miss out on the quality players we need to improve squad depth, so that we can compete in multiple comps. Glad the team played better and Suarez looks hungry, Utd are always a hard nut to crack at home even when playing badly so don't think we can read to much into the result. I just hope the players can use this frustrasion and go win the next 4-5 PL games.
I'm not Gerrard's biggest fan but I thought he played the playmaker role pretty well. Was given time and space and played some great balls at times. Need the wingers and full backs to do better though. The main problem is the link between mid and attack - please come back quickly Coutinho!
Played quite well at times and lost 1-0 at old trafford to a ****ing corner straight after the break. Pissed off but it's not the end of the world and certainly nothing to get too down about. We just have to sort ourselves out for Sunday and ensure we get 3 points there as this is main priority. Why is Hernandez happy to play third fiddle at utd as well? He'd be right up there for top scorer if he was somewhere else IMO.
I just don't see what Henderson brings to LFC, same old subs, Sterling on for a runaround, why did we buy Alberto, to be a benchwarmer? Sunderland is a big game, if we lose which we shouldn't, with the squad we have the knives will be out, 2 loses in a row, don't make it 3.
He's a quality player, would love to have a poacher like him in our squad. May not be involved in the game for a majority of the match but get the ball in the box and he will punish you.
Given all your rivals for top 4 also have european football to contend with, you should easilly be able to manage just the league and league cup till January. One cup game every 3 weeks or so surely isn't going to make that much difference?
Well this post is a load of bollocks. I would argue Henderson has been our standout performer so far this season (besides Sturridge obviously). He has a phenomenal workrate and a great eye for a first time ball as soon as he receives it. He does all the donkey work that others occasionally shy away from doing, and on top of that he always seems to be instrumental in linking our play together. I don't disagree with your point on Sterling. He's looked hopeless now for the last year. Alberto is 20 years old, and I believe we are doing the correct thing in slowly introducing him rather than throwing him to the lions and starting him every match so that idiots like you can comment on how inept he looks. He is 20 years old and new to the league. How can he be the source of any anger? The knives will not be out if we lose to Sunderland, granted it will be disappointing, but over the last 5 years we've dealt with disappointment well enough. I do seriously hope you aren't fickle enough to predict the future of the club and the manager based on a (possible) 3 game run.
Henderson was poor technically yesterday and I feel he needs to contribute more in terms of assists, goals etc. However, his work rate, energy and attitude is absolutely necessary considering our midfield is static. Key player in the team at the moment, but that says more about the current midfield than it does Henderson ...
