If it was a "you're a bunch of lazy, feckless bastards and you'll get no love or ketchup until you're winning games" I have no problems with it - just go out and win some games.
We looked a different team last night still some way to go but the players have a point to prove after they went to the board and told them that they would not play for PDC again. At first it can look like players not liking being told home truths, however it was much more that that. One player was dropped because he was laughing on the physio bench , another be caused asked why he was not used as a sub. Or incidents include players being banned from shaking hands with other employees on match days no eye contact with fans on the way into the ground ad then you had the constant belittling of players in public. By all accounts the players were happy with the heavy training and fitness work and the overall training but not the outbursts and irrational behaviour. They players will be up for this game so don't expect an easy game the squad is much improved from last year and the last few days might just be what was needed to bring them together as a team.
Does make the game very hard to predict. Doubt (and hope) di Can doesn't get to work again... by all accounts he sounds a massive arsehole and you're certainly better off without him.
Shame is we have a very good director of football and chief scout with massive experience of the top leagues and youth set ups across Europe who have rebuilt a team/squad for a net out lay of less than £2million and he has almost ruined the whole thing in five games. Whoever comes in will have a good base to build from.
Whoever comes it will need to do so with an entire backroom team. Sort of limits the options to already out of work managers IMO, as no side is going to let an entire backroom staff go with the manager mid-season. I reckon Gus Poyet is the man for the job...
