Commissar now of Al Zarooni, and Magic City on his debut are the two that have impressed me the most. Fulbright should be a nice prospect over a trip (won Woodcote at the weekend). Barry and Charlie Hills have some nice ones going to Ascot too, but the ones I am most looking forward to are those of Wesley Ward.
Still fresh in the memory as it was only yesterday but Bolger's filly Teolane impressed me the previous time out, never saw yesterday's race but by all accounts looked pretty decent again, although I don't know if she is beating much.
Teolane was impressive yesterday, and if I had to pick a winner of either Guineas next season then I think she would be the horse. We should see her again at Royal Ascot, and if she wins there we will be looking at a single figure price for the Guineas
I'll be following Nass in this area - he's the man when it come to the juveniles. I was in Holland over the weekend (no - not for that..... or that) but still caught the Epsom BBC races on Saturday. I also liked the look of Fulbright and can see him winning more races this season at a decent level.
Teolane is an exciting prospect by the undefeated European champion 2yo Tefilio who was short ante post fav for the Gns but was forced into retirement through injury. By Galileo and bred on the same cross as Frankel adds a bit of spice. He is a grand specimen of a horse. This is Teofilio's first crop. Apparently one of his offspring went for 400,000 euros. Is this the one? Teolane was beaten on debut by Maybe and Princess Sinead but has since reversed the form with the latter by nearly 4l. However, Maybe was over 4l in front of the pair of them, so how good is she?
Couple of really nicely bred newcomers racing tomorrow, will do a write up of them if I am able in the morning.
Having seen Richard Fahey’s Miss Work Of Art and Kevin Ryan’s Dozy, my preference at this stage would be for the former although I do not think that she will be at Royal Ascot (at least that is what the trainer intimated). I was also taken by Mick Channon’s Gatepost when he won at York but whether he will contest the Norfolk or the Coventry I do not think has been decided yet.
Shumoos looked an abolute machine on debut - I will be very surprised if anything can lower her colours in the Queen Mary
Shumoos will also get a good pace to race off in the Queen Mary, however I am really wary of this Ward runner Judy The Beauty who will surely be fast away and try to make all (he also has another one in the race). I also really like Dozy and Angels Will Fall both of which could easily be Group class at this stage. Shumoos is the one to beat (I really like the horse she beat that day) but I won't be backing until I see which raiders line up (Ireland/US/France) and where the pace will be.
Nass wasn't it Frederick Engels who finished 2nd to Shumoos? Won by about 6 lengths the other day I think, very impressive and a huge boost to Shumoos (if I remember correctly Frederick Engels was well clear of the 3rd behind Shumoos as well?)
That is right, its very strong form. The worry with the Queen Mary must be that she either gets blocked in her run, or one of the raiders are very sharp and make all
