From what i have seen the inclusion into our team of ki has given the side a aspect we have not had for a long, long, time, does this player return to his parent club in january or is he able to be kept by us, it speaks volumes that he looks by far our best player to date ,as was rose ,these players could not get a game for their respective clubs and were, and are surplus as in ki, this is how far in front of us teams like swansea are.

Ki fell out with Laudrupp which is why he was allowed to leave - played 30 odd games for Swansea last season. Using Swansea as an example of a team ahead of us is not really an insight though - we know how good a footballing team Swansea are (although the times I've seen them play us the last 2 seasons I would've been completely bored with their tippy tappy without shooting stuff with no plan B - it was like a prettier version of us)

There's nothing to stop us catching up to teams like this - I was very much disappopinted by the Ki signin when we made it but then found out that he fell out with Laudrupp in a training session and lost his place in the side - so he looked for first team footy and came to us. If he gets on well then go back and try to sign him in January or next Summer on a permanent deal and if he doesn't sign for us then let him be on his way and thank him for helping to keep us in the Premier League.

A lot of people complain about loaning players to develop other teams - in my eyes you loan a player not only to help the player and his parent club, but also to help strengthen your own side - Danny Rose was a prime example last season - he developed under us and went back to Spurs - thanks for the great times Danny and Daniel, it was definitely worth the time put into having you here as, without you, we'd have been woefully short in defence

Thank god that someone else sees the sense in loans. If we benefit during the loan spell, what's the problem? It's a shame to lose them, but surely when we loan players out we do it with the same expectations?

Don't let their style of football fool you Stu. They're still a mid to bottom side just like 14 other teams in the league until they prove otherwise. They look pretty but struggle to break down a protected organised defence. Things could change on that score like.

    Ki looks quality.

There's only 2 teams in the Prem this season that have never beaten SAFC since the prem formation.

    Swansea are one of them.

Swansea are quite far ahead of us imo

They've won a cup and they've just slapped Valencia in the Mestalla

No, and they weren't likely to be when they've been exposed to the elements the way they have. I'm sure somewhere in Paolo's head we were the Barca. Christ, Bally knew to protect the defence against Posh. It's common sense to protect it when you're leaking goals init?

But last season they finished 9th. A pitiful 7 points ahead of us who were saved last day. They only won two more than us as well. No doubt they played better football than us and no doubt we were dreadful but 7 points. We don't need to stand in shadows when 3/4 of the league are inconsistent. They're a good team no doubt but they do flatter to deceive, a point at there's is more than possible and Ki's loan shouldn't be seen as a step down for him imo.

Good point but it's worth noting they didn't have much to play for once they won the cup.

On a side note looks like Swansea are out of the cup, good for us. The less prem teams the better

Looks like the only upset of the night. Were there any yesterday? Lots of all prem ties this round which is alway good when we get an easy draw.
