I LOVE bally - absolutely love him - but I don't (yet) want him managing our club - no experience at this level and I'd prefer him to come in when things are going well and the players are in a good frame of mind...... Although, whilst I was typing that, would it be good for someone to come in when things are good or when things are bad - if they're bad then they can get better and not much worse - if they're good then it could go tit's up and leave a sour taste - I don;t want to end up another "Newcastle taking on Shearer" I love Bally and it's the fear that he fails that makes me not really want him as manager - I could never dislike the bloke (met him a couple of times at talk ins and he's a classy bloke) but if things went wrong I would hate to see some of our short memoried fans turn on one of my heroes You should've gone into Ladbrokes then posted this - from my (admittedly short) time working in a bookies when I was younger, they look at everything and have constant searches scanning the web to find out about any "inside info" on forums and stuff
Replace one in-experienced premier league with another? I dont think so. He's well respected in the club and rightly so but the board arent going to make that mistake again so quickly. They'll go for experience at a high level, whether its the prem or la liga, etc. If not, then we surely need a new owner!
Apart from Di Matteo, we havent been linked to managers with experience at a high level. Unless you count Mclaren.
Marcus, Fergie is the only manager I know who resigned not out. 99% of managers get their chance because someone else has ****ed up. Bally is my favourite player and having met him several times I agree he is a top class bloke as well. I think he is streets ahead of Shearer as a players manager, as Mary Popins is far too far to up his own arse to connect with people. He is no more a gamble than a Poyet but would have the advantage of having 100% total support from day one and to be perfectly honest, we are in such a mess that's exactly what we need more than anything. Christ I don't know really. Bloody hard choices these.
Trouble is cest if kevin fails it will probably mean an exit from the club full stop as most sacked persons dont hang about as part of the sacking im afraid,if this happened the club would not only lose a coach but a club stalwart as well
