OK, here is a positive thread about our great club, who just happen to be coming FIRST......... No: 1 on the Leaderboard ................Championship Leaders to be precise. What is also impressive is the fact that we only have 2 goals against, which just happens to be, of course, the best in the league. Other notable facts include no losses, the best Manager, Coach and backroom staff available ............. Richard Dunne seems to be the form player of the Championship. If anyone wishes to splash a bit of non positive spin on something, please go to another thread, this one is for the 'feel good' factor, which we rightly deserve, considering where we were last year and what our club has achieve so far in the campaign. There were a number of us, myself included who thought we might struggle at first but to date, Harry has ................. * Shipped out some deadwood who were holding the team back. * Brought in some fighters who want to achieve for the club. * Revitalised some existing players who weren't keen on staying or coming back. * Trim some costs of the club through player movement. * Got the new team defending as a group. * Got the team, playing for each other and the club. We have achieved a lot in a little time and whether we realise it or not, Harry has proved his worth .................his experience has shown through. Well done team!
Walked past one of my mates this morning (Liverpool fan) and couldn't resist signing " we're top of the league, top of the league, we're Queens Park Rangers and we're top of the league" He looked at me as if I was NUTS. Cheeky bugger.
Wow a lot of people on here thought that being sent down was going to be the down fall of this forum. In fact it is the fact that we have got to the other side in a better place. I don't think you are being negative if you say hey this is good but I think it can be better though. Aussie i do like what you have said a May it long continue
Good post Aussie. A positive message to start the week. Won't last though, the prophets of doom will soon get their retaliation in. Thank you Beth for forfeiting fame in the prediction league to preserve our run. DT, I will look out for a pair of red shoes at Clapham Junction on Saturday.
One thing for certain is that Redknapp knows what needs to be improved and will be working to address this. You can easily get the impression that his detractors think this is "all he's got". Even if the team slide 7 or 8 places before Christmas they will be in a better position than many thought possible after relegation. The New Year transfer window will then give Redknapp the opportunity to provide the impetus for the push towards promotion. Early days, I know, and dangerous to think too far ahead. But it is possible that this is how things are being planned: soldier on and grind out the results, stay in the leadership pack and the funds will be available for the home strait. Now't wrong in that from my point of view.
He wasn't wearing the red shoes when we met on Wednesday, so that confused me a bit. If in doubt, look for someone who resembles violinist Nigel kennedy's older, greyer brother...
Hope to meet up again Wandle soon... but not this week I am off to Morocco Sat afternoon for a week's surfing
They were Green last Wednesday ...very kind Willy... Admit i have seen better days ... Willy i think looks a bit like SB73in fact for a split second ... i thought it was Graham. Also great post Aussie
I’ll admit that right up to kickoff at the beginning of the season I felt very negative about Harry. He didn’t seem to want to be here, and I got fed up of his resigned, shoulder-shrugging, saggy-faced, blame-everyone-else attitude. All that nonsense about not being backed by the board when we didn’t sign Wayne Bridge, the gaff he made about having signed Hooper, and the way that he seemed to be lining up all his excuses in advance by constantly going on about how difficult it was going to be, and how many other bigger clubs there were in the league than us. There seemed to be little to no positivity coming from the club itself, which makes it pretty hard for us fans to give any positivity back. But fair play, we’ve made a stunning start to the season, albeit in a very different way to the swashbuckling swagger with which we started the promotion season under Warnock. We’ve ground it out and rode our luck. We’ve not been prolific and we’ve not been particularly pretty, but you simply can’t argue with 20 points from our first 8 games. That’s not something I ever expected in my wildest dreams. So fair play Harry. It looks like you might just know what your doing after all.
Yes, I agree it is great to see some positivity. Just a word of caution. Please don't put down people who hold an alternative view. Their opinions are just as valid and they are just as much fans of our club as the rest of us. What happened last year scarred us all.
