It was interesting to see us win with Mike Dean reffing. Very significant that all our goals came from set-pieces. He doesn't book for those cynical fouls 25 yards out, he doesn't book for shirt-pulling and he allows a lot of physical contact. In days gone by without Ozil's delivery we might have lost this game 1-0. I still think he is a lousy ref for us, but perhaps we are better equipped now. I don't think there is any harm in recognizing that there are refs who call games in a way that doesn't suit us.
I thought we (Stoke) played well today, we are still developing and we are not the finished article but it looks promising. it was weird conceeding 3 goals from set pieces. I thought Arsenal were the best team first half but I thought we played well second half and I enjoyed the game (I didnt say that much under Pulis).
It was a weird game, different to what I'm used to seeing. Stoke tried to keep the ball on the floor and play football and Arsenal scored the set-piece goals. Whodathunkit?
I missed the game. Was it more us playing crappy or Stoke playing a really good game? I looked at the possession stats and apparently, it was near level with Stoke edging it, which is strange when we have Ozil, Wilshere, Ramsey and Flamini in the midfield and playing at home.
No, Possession was pretty close but apart from that we bossed the game. To me it actually felt we cruised a little. Could have gone 'up a gear' at times.
Agreed with you there, and I think I speak for the majority of Arsenal fans when I say that he is not a true Arsenal fan.
Looks like we're starting to pace ourselves and still win. Funny how times change, before our possession play would have been 65%+ against a team like Stoke, now we're near level yet cruised to a win.
Funny... Piers Morgan would fit right in with a lot of not606 posters' with his fickleness towards Ramsey.
Most Arsenal fans are fickle towards Ramsey.. Piers is just a joke. Not really sure who he supports tbh.
No, but with a ref that we don't normally do well with, and after a mid-week CL fixture, this is about as close to "Cruising it" as we are going to get. 3-1 with almost 20 minutes to go, allowed us to relax a bit and see out the game without killing ourselves. Perhaps comfortable, rather than cruising?
Just got home from the game.Very pleased with the result.I saw the Romford Pele outside the ground and one of the lads from the bus was interviewed by Sky Sports
Talking about fickleness, it wasn't many weeks ago that you posted on here that you'd laugh if we lost to Fenerbahce
Look at the possession stats for second half before you scored the 3rd, hardly cruising or comfortable imo, good luck for rest of the season mate
It was good to see Stoke passing the ball. I dislike them far less with there new approach (despite them still having a couple of arseholes).
That would be fine. Suggesting they call games in a certain way because they "hate" us is where it gets stupid.
