He was pretty poor imo today. All he did was smash that freekick in, that's all.

Disagree, he had a decent game with **** all support and sod all help from Welbeck. Easily England's best forward, only Sturridge near him at the minute.

He is still England's best forward, but that really isn't saying much to be fair.

United were abysmal. I think we're finally seeing how poor their players are, now that they've not got the greatest manager of all time to carry them. I said when they won the league last season that I thought they were the worst team ever to finish as champions, and performances like this from players like Smalling (****) and ****ing Cleverley (<laugh>) are why. It wouldn't surprise me if Fergie starts giving Moyes a few words of advice...

Good to see Spurs beat Cardiff too. According to the BBC they had 29 shots on goal

Arsenal are top with Spurs in second on goal difference.

Not what I expected after 5 games to be honest...

I just wish Rooney had left. They'd really be up **** creek then. Spurs have some excellent players, but they surely can't win 1-0 every week... Too many creative midfielders and not enough strikers

Not sure why not. Spurs significantly strengthened their squad this summer and Arsenal are on decent form if you look at the back end of last season too. Man U, Man C and Chelsea all had tough starts, two of them playing the best team in Yorkshire and the other having away games at Liverpool and Man C

Reminiscent of Liverpool after Dalgleish left the first time round watching UTD, not all Moyes' fault either as the squad Fergie left him, whilst they won the title last season is in desperate need of rebuilding, both Vidic and Ferdinand are in their 30s, Rio well into his 30s, the wingers Valencia, Nani and Young are all poorer than the wingers at their rival's teams, Evra is getting on and there is very little creativity in the centre. The only area they are strong is up front with Rooney and RVP, whilst making judgements after 5 games is a little premature, having seen their opening 5 they may struggle to make the top 4 this year. Let's face it, Man City away isn't that daunting a task! but for some better finishing we could have got a point or more!

Pretty perfect weekend for us result wise with Newcastle, Sunderland, Norwich, Palace, Cardiff, West Ham, Stoke and Fulham all losing, only result you could say didn't go our way would be Soton beating Liverpool but that's hilarious so who gives a ****!

No, but you said no Man Utd player should be in Roy's England squad.

So? I maintain that he was disappointing imo despite the FK. Based on today none of them should be in the side. Of course, that is based on today as I said.

I'm saying I disagree and Rooney should be in the England squad (even based on today's game). He had Kompany on him almost all game and (as I said) he had appalling support, yet he still looked good and scored.

Well, that's your opinion and your entitled to it. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Rooney's been well below par for England for a few years now.

His touch for the national team is ****ing shocking. Lambert's doing fine.

Rooney's been **** for England but we know he can be a really top class player, Lambert can't. He's done brilliantly for Southampton and fair play to him, but he's in the England team because of injuries and he's nowhere near the player Rooney is. I'd have Rooney playing off Sturridge.

I can't say Man Utd had one decent player today and 20 million for Ashley Young looks like a very bad buy on today's performance. Even Vidic looked unsure, Valencia complained each time he was tackled so it looks like Moyes has quite a task on his hands. And I believe Van Persie had a hamstring injury but to base a team on one man is not very encouraging for the future and despite all the big money buys Man City still play like a team of individuals rather than a team like Arsenal. The blue half of Manchester will be celebrating tonight but I don't expect the alarm bells to be ringing just yet at Old Trafford but any more performances like that and they surely will be.

Rooney has scored 9 in the last 13 games for England, thats absolutely shocking, no idea how he keeps getting back into the squad. Drop him now.

From what I saw when we played them I was expecting Utd to do them, but the highlights of the goals showed them to have a piss poor defense, which is something I said the other night against Leverkusen.

His performances at tournaments have been the problem, he hasn't had a tournament since Euro 2004. I believe he's never even scored at a World Cup, but he's definitely still our best forward.
