Ignore the craas. They are shouting for a team that is no better than ours.

Concentrate on our situation and try and see that PDC cant put right what he doesn't know what is wrong. We have a decent squad and could put out s decent 11 to compete with most in that league but we haven't had the same team in 6 games so far this season. under performing favourites like AJ and Giacherinni are retained no matter what but the likes pf Cabral and Roberge (both who had impressive opening day games btw) are dropped after 1 match. Cattermole is back in the fold from a very frosty place (his squad number was taken off him in a blatant show by PDC he wasn't wanted in the Summer) and will be expected to save our midfield going forward. Larsson, Wickham and Vaughan are in and out of the team and squad like the hokey-cokey again and Cabral is totally shoved out of proceedings (thankfully for him probably) and you just don't know who will be in the team on Sunday and who will be dropped totally. Its as poor a management regime as I've seen at the club in 40 years and would be hapless if it were for a Sunday morning league team let alone the EPL.

Cest "There is no one that can say with assurity that Mon would not have won 2 games in that gun in and also struggled to safety either."

Or the reverse. O'Neill has gone, get over it.

C'mon for gods sake, stick with pdc and the team, could be a little while still before we get of that one point, ( however I fancy doing lfc) we are five games in. Our star forward has been out and again apparently, which hasn't helped.

I do however like most wonder why, catts has been maligned, Alfie has left, cabral seems a non starter and why persist with Larson n Vaughan .

All said and done I still think we will turn the corner and if he has to pdc will learn, that is if he isn't hounded out of the club, then very unsure where this would leave us, for people shouting di Matteo he doesn't have Terry, Lampard and drogba to work with!!!

I would love to give a decent manager time. But PDC doesn't fit into the bracket of decent. His tactics are strange, substitutions are weird and his man management skills are zero. I am at a loss why some fans think this guy is worth sticking with. If any of you did this bad at your job, you would be shown the door straight away.

I see Reidy has had this to say (from BBC site):

"The bottom line is that he needs results, but any manager needs his players as well. You can always volley players, in any walk of life people need a kick up the backside every now and then, but you cannot keep on doing it.

"Sometimes it's best to do it in private. It's a manager's prerogative to get into players every now and then, but you cannot do it all the time.

"The fans are going to be a big influence on the next couple of games. The manager and the players need to be as one as well."

The one thing I can't get about Di Canio is his timing of these chats he does. He motivated Sessegnon more yesterday than in his entire time managing him at Sunderland. If you come out 3 days before a player you sold is playing against you and say "he didn't work hard enough" he is going to work his socks off against you. I don't mind him saying it but not 3 days before you play against him. Crazy IMO. Time will tell whether he is the right man but only one tem has failed to win in the first three games and stayed up. Southampton last season. We haven't won in the first 5 so I honestly can't see us staying up

We have a squad and enough time to change our season. If we allow di Canio to just flap about for another 5 or 6 hapless games that reduces greatly.

PDC just shows me nothing at all to suggest he can manage at this level. Absolutely nothing at all.

Chest where do you get that cattermoles squad number was taken off him?. The PLAYERS did that mate so you're completely wrong about that(not an opinion just what he gaffer actually said) Any arguments over numbers was taken to a charity auction. As for Cabral, Di Canio explained that decision too and that he was way behind physically regardless of his game. He had a very poor game after that good game so you can't regally make a decision on a player based on one good performance. AJ, for the most part, has done OK in an under performing team. He'strying to get things going but is unable due to the team.

5 games, you really want rid after 5 games.............your setting the benchmark at 5 games.

Right, lets get the next manager in, give him 5 games then we can repeat this process.

I was not keen on PDC but it was a new direction......someone driven, who will be 24/7 Sunderland, who is learning his trade but has pedigree, disciplinarian and high values.

I was all for giving him a chance, 5 games is not a chance.

Agree entirely with RAW and Paddock, although if the mags are pissing themselves, they'll be missing the point entirely, as usual :)

Five games is waaaay too short a time to give someone who's only just got his feet under the desk and has a whole bunch of new players to work with.

Just out of interest how many games is enough? And at what point during those games wound you pull the plug?

For instance, let's say he us given until Christmas but Ed lose the next 4 games making it 8 on the belt do you end it? Or would you willingly lose 6 or 7 more to keep giving him time?

My benchmark is is there improvement? Are there signs for the positive or the negative? Does the manager fill you with confidence or dread? Is there a definitive plan that you can see what the manager wants or is trying to accomplish?

IMO it's about this not how many games he has had and I am fully convinced to leave this change 1 game longer will only create more damage than good.
