That was the game that was: 5-5 and it could've been a lot more. I remember being gutted I had to work that day so missed the most astounding game we ever played in the top flight. Mullery was just beginning to unravel TV's great promotion winning team and this, after shipping 5 at Spurs the previous week was the start of a descent that eventually did for Mullery. The dire run also included a 6-2 win over Partizan Belgrade at Highbury in the UEFA Cup which, in typical Rangers fashion, we f*cked up in the away leg and created a record that still stands for a team losing a tie with the biggest first leg lead when we lost the return 0-4. Happy days when goals fell like rain...

Was that 5-0 against spuds when Wicks got hold of Clive Allen in the net after he scored and celebrated in front of the QPR fans? If it was then I went to all these games. The 2nd leg at Partizan was a nightmare as you could see all the QPR team *hit their shorts as they come out. We had 1 coach load of fans that night. 4 of us made our own way, with no tickets thinking it would be easy getting tickets only to find it was a bloody sell out. Good drink though.

The greatest game I've ever been to & can't see it ever being beaten. To think that was so p*ssed off the group of us nearly called it a day at half time yet by the end were speachless.

My dad and I had season tickets in the South Africa road stand, I was going to walk out at half time (4-0 down). He had to pin me down to keep me there saying "if I've got to sit through this **** so do you". I've never left a game before the final whistle since.

I was forced to go to a wedding that day, the only home game I missed in about six seasons. The friend who borrowed my season ticket went home at HT!

Great game, so many left that game and missed the match of a lifetime. Will never forget being there!
Doubt we'll ever see anything like it again - scoring 5 goals would be nice!!

29 years ago! I feel even older now. This is the only of our matches that have entered QPR folklore that I was at.

One of our great comeback matches and there have been a few, Port Vale, Derby, Liverpool, and some final or other.

I was there and somewhere I have a video of the match perhaps I should get it turned into a DVD.

I can remember saying to John and Andy (the guys I went with) we are not that bad to be 4 nil down....and John (who must have grown up to be Flyer) said yes we are...we will lose this 10-0.

It was Gary Micklewhite who got the last goal wasn't it...

I am far too young to remember that match!
Seriously though, great memories. I remember sitting on the tube on the way home from the game thinking, did that really just happen!

JG had the best ball control on the artificial pitch that I ever saw in those days.

I think Chris Powell mentioned the same match yesterday on Soccer AM as the greatest match he's seen.

    Spooky.
