So any ideas where we'll come on the show tonight, with Chelski & Fulham still to come. I think they'll show Liverpool first with us or Wet Spam on 2nd, assuming Chelski don't do something silly like score ****loads or lose.
Us or WHU/Everton should be on first. It'll probably be the latter due to Lukaku scoring a debut winner.
It'll be 5 minutes of footage, then 3 minutes of talking about how bad Newcastle's defending was, followed by a quick "and well done to Hull too. Now, Fulham......"
They'll probably say Aluko's goal was bad defending rather than good attacking... To be fair Lineker has been talking us up a good bit on twitter since we returned to the Prem, so he might try to get something in.
West Ham - Everton, Newcastle - Hull, Liverpool - Southampton, West Brom - Sunderland, Norwich - Villa. Chelsea - Fulham will probably slot into 4th.
Gary Lineker ‏@GaryLineker 1h Southampton have scored at Anfield. Lovren pounces. 0-1 Expand Gary Lineker ‏@GaryLineker 1h Newcastle and Hull making a charge for the top spot on #MOTD now 2-2
seems we made a lot of friends after our last stint in the prem , my old school pal was at the game reporting on the game for a redtop national. He said to me yesterday that he expected a newcastle win but his predictions were sometimes wrong . Be interested to read his take on the game. Gutted i couldnt be there.
FLG raised a good point on the match thread. If Shearer is on, he will tear into Newcastle and say how good we were, as he will have been there to actually see it.
I'd say it's more a case that our manager is massively respected in the inner circle of the ex-pros and the top journalists.
Yep, we're on second. Gary Lineker ‏@GaryLineker 39s MOTD running order: WHU/Eve, New/Hull, Liv/Sou, WBA/Sun, Che/Ful, Nor/AV. Excellent games tonight and lots of goals. BBC1 10.30
Shocked at that to be honest, I was sure Chelsea would be on first because apparently Mikel scored. Although I did think it was either bullshit or a mistake and I guess that proves it.
The running order is decided before the games are played, because at the BBC, common sense is as lacking from proceedings as your offers to make trifle have been recently. Come on now, there's a whole new division waiting to sample the wonders of your culinary delights.
I'm fairly sure that whilst that's the case for the Football League Show, the order of games for Match of The Day is chosen after they've taken place.
It is. FLS only do it that way as they only have one set of cameras to get proper coverage so it has to be picked beforehand, then the rest of the games go in order of the league table from top to bottom. MOTD have extensive footage of every premier league match and pick the order on merit.
