Am I the only person who is still waiting to see a good attacking performance like we saw towards the end of last season?

In all honesty although we have defended well but we have still had some long overdue luck. Need to press faster and have more shots at goal.

I am very nervous about todays game as Southampton are due some goals.

  2. We've seen it in glimpses but more importantly, we need a ninety minute performance!

Won't happen today at least without Coutinho playing.

The only reason we haven't seen 90 minute performances is because we have only had a single goal leads towards the end of games and teams start to press us and we go into our shell and retreat.

Think most people would like us to go out, play awesome football and win 4-0 every game. But it's not going to happen. We've got the quality so we will perform like that in some games, but all the time we aren't playing great football, I'm happy for us to pick up the 1-0 wins, despite how nervous they make me feel!

We need one of Suarez or Coutinho imo because they're by far the most creative players we have who can conjure up something from nothing

    Bring back Kuyt!

He was tireless and make sure we kept pressing into 2nd half... just the sight of his hair made defenders and small children panic in fear.

  10. I don't expect us to win 4-0 every game, I expect us to play for ninety minutes! Playing and dominating a game does not mean a heavy scoreline, it means we were in control. Can't say that for any of our games so far.

Blame Kenny for wasting him on the bench.

What a load of rubbish, if it wasn't for Sturridge we'd be mid table.

We need both. If we only have one they get double mark and get ganged up on. With both teams cannot afford to double mark them. Especially with Sturridge and Moses in to.

  14. We need one of them in the side but would prefer both for the reason you highlight.

Was hoping S'ton might have been it, no surprises there. We do need to start putting a few past teams, and soon.

The way I see it is that our attack needs 2 players for us to win games/score goals - the striker (Sturridge) and the creator (Coutinho/Suarez).

Ideally, I would like all 3 starting but as long as we have 2 of the 3, we have enough quality to score goals. This has been proven when we had Sturridge and Coutinho striking a great partnership over the past few months, also between Sturridge and Suarez in the first month he arrived, and Suarez and Coutinho when Sturridge was out injured.

to OP, yes we have not been anywhere near but sides have worked on how to defend v coutinho he was double marked a lot. midfielders can do that and not affect their own positioning so much. ball to coutinho two men close down. leave aspas alone... cb picks up sturridge... hell even leave henderson cos he can't hurt you either.

    simple really.

Another positive about Luis coming back is his energy and constant closing down. Our team tires in the second half so it will be refreshing to see him lead the charge.

We need Suarez, Ford, Sturridge and Moses maybe not all the pitch at the same time but to be available to change games. With those resources, only City can claim to be better provided for.
