I received an email from Paul Morrissey (Press and Media manager) this afternoon inviting us to the fans' forum meeting on 3rd October. We have the opportunity to submit a question in advance, which I assume means that it will be asked. So, what question do we want to be asked? Away supporters, family stand, or something far more original (please)? I think that this, more than the comms and media meeting I went to earlier this year, is acknowledgement that we have been recognised as a serious QPR forum. This is a massive break through, let's not waste it.
This is great news for this forum Roller. After watching London Call-in we now know that Ian Taylor also looks in and has a read of our threads too. The Media Team have looked very efficient and professional from what I've seen of them this season, so if anyone has a good original question there is every chance that it will be taken seriously and addressed. Cheers Roller, good work.
Id say raise the question again about the farce of the family stand. They've so far totally ignored the many negative comments on how its been handled (not that Im against it in principle), and the way it was implemented.
None that I can think of other than its next to the away fans. This is one of many things that I suggested to the club, in writing, but never received a reply. Phil "tell me about the problem" Beard has never replied to any of the communication Ive sent in on this subject.
Didn't there used to be those nets bolted to the school end, preventing projectiles being thrown from the top tier to the bottom? I wonder what happened to them, there were reports of R's fans being coined by Birmingham ones on Saturday. That might be a common theme if championship clubs frequently don't take the entire away end/allocation. [terribly dull question, i'll try to think of something more exciting!]
There were drinks being emptied (at least I hope it was drinks) at regular intervals through the Birmingham game. When the penalty diver got booked there were bottles and the odd seat flying about and then the flare. I think that comprehensively rules out that area. Perhaps you could suggest using one or two of the Paddock areas ..
I think it might of been done before but the standard and price of the catering is shocking. I paid £8 the other week for two half cooked hotdogs on a dry roll. The pies and pasties are either overcooked and burnt, or not cooked at all and doughy. I was put off buying anything a couple of years ago, and like many others bring any food of drink from the local supermarket. Surely the club could be making more revenue by raising the standards and lowering the prices.
Agree with Stainesy re the pies. Last week i abstained on the food front and stuck with a £2 average tea Im sure there are far better questions to be asked though - Do we need better medical staff if they thought AJ & BZ could last a season? Why 7 games in are we experiencing 'a striker crisis'?
Great work for getting the forum recognised. The family stand I think will be raised by just about everyone given how unpopular it is amongst qpr fans. One thing Loftus Road does lack that most clubs have is a statue somewhere outside the ground. Most clubs have one at least or their most successful player or manager, so why don't we have one? Alan McDonald could be a possibility. If not, why not a recreation of this picture which is for me at least one of the more iconic images of QPR. I dont think this should be our main question but would be interesting to see if the club had in anyway thought about celebrating the clubs history
I have no idea of costs but it is probably expensive but based from a selfish point is there a possibility of QPR TV to show live games I know this would come at a cost but I for one am willing to pay for a good quality decent bias commentary and as the numbers are growing certainly on this board alone of expats living abroad I'm sure others would be willing to pay for the right price. I know there are loads of free streams out there but generally are poor quality IF they manage to last a full game but my idea would be an expansion of the QPR Player and depending upon demand this service can stay. There are dozens of points attached to this request and probably a lot more difficult answers, but if you don't ask you don't get. You could also use this to market ourselves in other countries and reach out all over the world?
The badge...how it is just nothing badge. A consultation on a new badge....to go on next years new kit. And not giving the whole of the school end to away fans...it is intimidating
As I sit and try to work out how I will get coverage of today's game (a weekly tradition!) this seems like a great question. Is clearly being asked on behalf of us ex-pat r's. Could be asked in the context of our supposed fan base in south east Asia...what with the sponsorship links with Air Asia.
I'd also like a QPR TV channel, if the TV rights could be sorted. Also, as a very kind member is sending me a copy of Brixton's match day program, are the programs available online? This probably wouldn't be a huge coast to implement, and I'd be happy to subscribe to receive them - either in email form or have them uploaded to the website.
