I was very pleased with our performances against Tblisi and yesterday's scoreline was fine. It was a win and a clean sheet. I'll rarely have an issue with that combination. I just felt that there was a fairly large amount of sloppiness and complacency in the second half in particular, which may have been caused by the gulf in quality. Allowing that sort of attitude to creep in when the score's 2-0 can be very dangerous, even if the opposition are pretty poor. They nick a goal, get a set-piece and we're suddenly nervous. Can people try and keep things reasonable please, by the way? Disagree all day long, but there's no need to have digs at each other, especially after an easy win.
"I just felt that there was a fairly large amount of sloppiness and complacency in the second half in particular, which may have been caused by the gulf in quality." AVB also recognised that (hence Eriksen coming on) . However his job is to lay down the law to his players. Continually do this, and their place in the PL starting XI etc is in jeopardy.
Eriksen has used a picture of himself on Instagram and he's accidentally drawn a parallel with one of our former players. The bottom half is from his goal celebration yesterday and the top half is a familiar image: please log in to view this image
Amongst those who enjoyed our performance last night and commented on social media were Assou-Ekotto, Lineker, Ginola and... Charlie Adam?!
He comes from the land of the ice and snow At White Hart Lane he scored against Tromso The hammer of the gods will drive our Spurs to new lands To fight the Goons, singing and crying: Champions League, we are coming! On he sweeps with threshing oar, his only goal will be to finish Top Four (Probably needs some work...)

Cheers Inda, not sure how many takers for a second dose though! ...except Eriksens goal, its one of those you don't tire of watching.
It's been recorded from FOX, so the commentary is in American and they've managed to make the second half a little bit more exciting in a way only Americans know how.
I thought Defoe was fantastic, especially after watching the game a 2nd time. Full of running, good variety of runninbbeyond the defenders and coming for the ball and two clinical top finishes. He needs to start Prem games while he is in this form as we saw last year, when in form, he wins games.
Well with Pool losing and an in form...ish Stoke playing Arsenal who are often given a torrid time by the Potters and with us at what should be a happy venue we could go top. That would be superb. Chelsea against Fulham who have drawn four out of their last five at The Bridge might just do the same again and I'd think a draw in Manchester and with our upcoming fixtures what I say is Come on you Spurs.
Possibly the first time in about 5 years that I've been glad we've got a midweek Europa game. An opportunity to get the players' minds off the weekend. I stopped expecting a reaction after poor performances long ago though.
Time to try 2 up front, get a morale helping 4-0 win, whilst not using any first teamers execpt Ade. That is the mission. As always we need to keep our coefficient points up, which is vital if we do qualify for Champions league, or equally if we miss out on a Europa next year (with hope of qualifying year after).. It's funny reading this old thread back and the optimism most had, what a difference 2 months makes. I don't know if Defoe should play - he has nothing to prove in this compitition any more, and with Ade played instead of him in the league I imagine he would be in a right foul mood.
"Time to try 2 up front". Well it won't be Defoe and Adebayor as neither has travelled. Maybe it will be Coulthitst and Kane.
