I was brought up just off Goodison Road. My dad and uncle were blues, the first game they took me to was a derby when I was six. Me being an awkward bastard I went red on them. As a kid I'd often go to Goodison, after perpetrating a car minding scam I and other local lads would go in for free when they opened the gates in the second half (obviously I wouldn't pay for the privilege). I loved footie no matter who was playing, but I was always a red, much to my dad's disgust. Most kids I knew had family members on both sides, we'd stand next to each other on the terraces. There just wasn't the bitterness between the two in those days.
who cares... he's an outright total hand on heart utd fan.... there's nothing at all wrong with him acting the part when we all know he's utd mad is there?
Fair play to Bolt. He's a United fan and at least he said "I want Liverpool to lose" and nothing more. That's Ok.
No, she's not a Liverpool fan... sorry... she just made it her life goal to have sex with as many Liverpool fans as possible... ... or did I make that up.
The Bitterness is only coming from one direction mate and it ain't from us. I, like most Reds I know at the match and just round Liverpool, aren't overly concerned with Everton or what they do etc. It's funny I've been a member of numerous different LFC forums over the years and I've never seen a dedicated thread about EFC and their progress throughout the season, yet on the most popular Blue forum I could find to check, there is a dedicated LFC thread that never EVER falls off the first page, in fact it's nearly always in the top 2-3 of most posted in thread. It's pure hate-filled obsession. I genuinely think it's really amusing.
Toela, I think the basis of that is mainly because of the disparity of success. We've had the lions share of silverware of the merseyside clubs so it is understandable they are more frustrated at us than vice versa. Were things reversed we'd be bitter too, no doubt. I will say though Everton are good neighbours. They stood by pool through and after hillsborough and I don't think many of them truly wish us harm.
The disparity in success was only for a period of time, reds speak like it's always been that way, when it simply hasn't. Irrespective it's got **** all to do with it. As I remember as a lad going to watch the reds bring home the European cup, (only for that tit Hughes to piss over the side of the bus & insult the many thousands of Blues there like...) as despite the rivalry there was respect. It was Heysel that changed things, followed by the internet age & the many OOT'ers (on both sides) who started to make the rivalry something beyond the 'banter' that it was before.
Obviously never stayed onto the most popular kopite forum on the net then eh........ http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=1qpuf6liomj12cueunhc9846t5&topic=297710.5600 deluded bollocks that post lad.
18 titles vs 9. 5 European cups vs 0. I'd say we've had a much more successful time. Until last couple of years we were in champions league each year. The early part of this century Everton was in a relegation scrap every other season. I was born before Heysel. Reds/blues got on fine. It wasnt until late 90s that the relationship changed....
Tobes I've visited rawk... never stayed... they seemed like rabid dogs on there. Doesn't surprise me they have an Everton thread... prob have a utd thread too. Spend more time bashing rivals than supporting us. Rawk is not typical Liverpool... they're more like the SOS type of people.
It's in no way similar. Gerrard went to both games like me and loads of scousers I know, he never said he was a blue unlike Baines who is quite clear in his support. Out of interest what did you make of his fourtwofour interview - did he lie? Especially this bit that he 'hadn't bought his lad a mini Liverpool kit ... yet'.
That's a lie. You've got a half memory there, nothing to do with Hughes or weeing over the side of the bus. Get your facts straight. You can go away and find out the real story of who wee'd and where but don't make stuff up as if you remembered it.
