CIRCUIT DATA

MARINA BAY CIRCUIT

Length of lap:
5.073km
Lap record:
1:45.599
(Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari, 2008)
Start/finish line offset:
0.137km
Total number of race laps:
61
Total race distance:
309.316km
Pitlane speed limits:
60km/h throughout the entire event weekend.

CHANGES TO THE CIRCUIT SINCE 2012

► Various small sections of track have been resurfaced.
► The steel kerbs installed for 2012 now have additional rear sections, removing the need to back-fill with asphalt (except the apex of Turn 18).
► The kerb on the exit of Turn Seven has been extended by 10m.
► Turn 10 has been re-aligned with the second and third apexes of the corner removed.
► The TecPro barrier on the exit of Turn 10 has been extended by 24m.

DRS ZONES

► There will be two DRS zones. The detection point of the first is 230m before Turn Five with an activation point 50m after the apex of Turn Five. The second detection point is 80m before the apex of Turn 22 with activation 45m after the apex of Turn 23.

Don't think we'll see many DRS assisted overtakes going into turn 1, however, that little boost down the start/finish straight should allow them to close the gap going into turn 5 detection and therefore frist DRS zone should be more useful.

New corner looks pretty fast, should be interesting to see if it throws up any more overtaking opportunities into the next few corners as it was quite difficult to follow a car through that section of the lap due to the low speed nature and the mickey mouse corner.

Doubt it, Jon Noble tweeted a pic of the entry into turn 10, looks kinda of narrow, not single file but certainly gonna need some brass balls to pull off a move into turn 10.

Here's hoping for a gearbox failure for Vettel in quali <ok>

I'd love to see him not setting a time and then storming through the field in the race.

Croft's commentary is an absolute mess, Chandhok keeps having to correct him. Painful to watch

OK. Long run avgs. super-soft. VET 1:50.654; WEB 51.258; RAI 52.306; ROS 52.637. ALO & HAM N/A
Long-run averages medium tyre. WEB 50.783 (four laps); VET 51.617 (7); RAI 51.766 (7); HAM 52.87 (5) ALO 53.371 (15); ROS 53.428 (10)
That's the biggest Friday long-run advantage for Red Bull all season

Hamilton: "I think it [gap to Red Bull] will reduce slightly perhaps, but I might be wrong. As always every Friday night we have to try to pull a miracle out of nowhere."
Raikkonen: "[Red Bull] were so much faster than anybody else. I am sure we can do much better, but I don't think we can match Red Bull because there is no chance."

Just let this season end already.
