Red Bull Leipzig go with seven up front from the kick off. Clever routine, but if it backfired they'd be ****ed. http://www.theguardian.com/football...ick-off-red-bull-leipzig-video?CMP=ema_follow
I don't really see it as any different to any team attacking, there was only 1 player in the 6 yard box, 2 defenders should have stopped it, the only thing it gave them initially was the confusion to get the ball when hoofed down the pitch. The defending team should have recovered as the final ball was not really any different to any other from that position.
Thats the point, confusion and surprise a good tactic when the other team are caught in in the "Fog of Premier League War" catch them with "Shock and Awe" and this for the other team would be "One of the unknown unknowns". Stop it I am getting carried away here!
Not really new, Zeman at Roma did something similar from kick offs in terms of getting players forward. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHeDRloZQ-I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BcRjoPjB3E
