Cant see a match thread yet so thought I'd give one a go, Vs Today we make our second trip of the year to the John Smith's Stadium,in what is becoming an increasingly frequent fixture, to play Huddersfield Town. We have been playing a lot better in recent weeks picking up our first win against Leicester and another vital point away to Watford. The only injury worries for Charlton are Chris Solly and Leon Cort who both remain doubts for this game, there is also uncertainty over Yann Kermorgant as the extent of his injury, picked up vs Watford, is still unknown. Huddersfield currently sit 12th in the league table and haven't managed a win since our most recent meeting in the League Cup, losing to Barnsley 2-1 in their most recent outing. The only possible changes for Huddersfield are Jon Stead and Sean Scannell who have both impressed of the bench recently, new signing Jazz Richards, from Swansea, could also feature. Prediction - 3-1 to the Addicks 2 goals from Church and Jackson as well. Charlton: Hamer, Wood, Morrison, Dervite, Wiggins, Wilson, Jackson, Pritchard, Stephens, Church, Sordell Sordell replaces the injured Kermorgant, but unchanged otherwise.
Still no Solly, is he really badly injured then? And surprised Sordell got the vote over the Pig, be interesting to see how we play now with that extra pace compared to Kermit.
Although Solly is a much better right-back than Wilson, I am not so sure there is all that much between them playing 3-5-2. Wilson has a lot more league experience playing further forward than Solly. This is his best position. He did well against Watford so no need to rush Solly back before he is 100%. This is Sordell's big chance. If the Doctor didn't pick him to start today he might as well pack his bags. Not convinced he will take it, mind, but at least he has been given a chance to show what he can do. Might make for a better game with the ball on the ground. I think Huddersfield have changed since we met in Div One. Not so reliant on big bruisers now. Could see Pigott, Cousins and Harriott all on as subs if we need a goal or two. If we are drawing it is more likely to be Evina and Gower.
